This was an amazing story. It was crazy how you interwove the two separate storylines, past and present, and still had them both be so interesting, distinctive, and yet similar. I absolutely loved it. One thing, though. You have the present dated as november 2008, which should be 2007, yes? Considering Dean got OUT of Hell on Sept 18th 2008 (and wouldn't have 6 months left before his deal came due in Nov '08). Sorry to be a stickler, but I figured it was just a typo. I noticed it in two places. Otherwise, brilliant!

Glorious! I loved all of it! I'm very relieved that Sam and Caleb are calling a truce. I never imagined their relationship had devolved so much. New Mexico was the linchpin for their rift and eventually their healing. I hope there's more to come about Sam and the Taos hum. I can't wait to read the Beginning of the End! John and Mac's first meeting will be interesting I'm sure!

Wionderful! Gideon Lane appearing in Pastor Jim's kitchen was definitely not what I'd expected. It was cool to know that Gideon had received full Guardian status if only posthumously. Dean gets to finally meet Miss Emma and be reunited with his dad. What a great treat! (especially since it's temporary). I'm glad there's another chapter coming. Caleb and Sam still have some unresolved issues in New Mexico.

I love the layers of thoughts and emotions you reveal in each character as you peel away their defenses and test them physically and mentally. You have made the Winchesters, Caleb and those around them more than characters in a story but actual three-dimensional people. You make us angry at their selfishness then we see their actions from a different perspective and we see their actions are spurred by insecurity and love so we feel guilty for our anger. You have a beautiful gift! Thank you so much for sharing your world with us!

A very telling and invigorating talk between Sam and Caleb. It was eye-opening to see how the two hunters thought of one another, what they thought of John and the role they believed Dean played in their lives. I found myself being anger and sympathetic toward both men almost at the same time. Amazing interaction!! Dean's realization of what Hell would probably be like was very stirring. I personally believe he's guessed correctly.

Jim's wisdom is just what Dean needs. It's also keeping his mind from focusing on what's happening to him physically. I'm interested to discover what the bear's true purpose is and what it's hiding.

I'm so glad Caleb and Sam are back on the united front. I really enjoy Dean's visits from Pastor Jim. He says so much and still leaves so much unspoken.

Wonderful story - yes there was indeed a great "payoff" at the end - Sam and Caleb laying foundations in their "bitchfest"!!!!! Caleb has such a way with words - loved how you unpicked their intertwined histories and the masterful way both you and Tida pull this AU together - if I've said it once - I am going to carry right on saying it, this is a piece of ART and I gain something new everytime I read either of your work, it is always time well spent. Will be hanging out to read Tida's next installment and regularly lurk on Sensue's site and the Hunters Tomb. Amazing stuff - thanks

Okay so first i owe you an apology, I missed reviewing the last two or three chapters. It wasn't due to a lack of interest, just simply a lack of time. Trust me when I say that I'll be reading this one again in its entirety sooner rather than later. I love how you handled the entire story. Sam and Caleb hammering out their relationship, glimpses into Dean's past and his suffering at Sam's departure for Standford, and most of all, I've never been so on the edge of my seat as I was the entire time Dean was being tortured...Not bad considering you never really gave details. Choosing to have Dean retreat to the farm during a time of true crises, was inspired. I honestly think the interaction between Dean and the Pastor were some of my favorite moments in all of your brotherhood stories. So thanks for the read, and I look forward to the next one. - Kel ;)

I love the whole interweaving of the past and the present, and finally in this fic Sam and Caleb managed to agree to discuss things civilly. i agree with Sam's assessment that he treats Caleb as someone who's always there, and that they had Dean as a common denominator. I can't wait for the next brotherhood story! you and Tidia and Sensue and Tara did very very good stories, even the others who used your brotherhood characters. i think this is the mark of a very successful 'verse. here's to more brotherhood stories!!!!!!

Awesome ending for an awesome story. I think i loved every word of it. Hope we'll see Eli and Ethan again, but especially Joshua in the next ones. But anyway, with the season's premiere and Tidia's next being up, next week can only be a great one. Thanks again for creating and sharing this amazing universe.

He managed to see the entire family? even Mary? cuz that would be awesome, him seeing everyone. i think he deserves it. It's nice that you are adding Eli Ethan and Gideon to the mix for this story. i thought it was great that they give a kind of breather to the whole story, rather than you continuing all the way with the boys, Sam and Caleb specifically. their intense exchanges are, er, intense. LOL

Loved the unearthly reunion!!!! The face off between Caleb and Rose had me guessing there - especially with all that "Auntie" "Nephew" stuff. Will that confrontation be more final for Rose next time? She is a fantastic bad-girl - but I was so itching for Caleb to fulfil his and Sam's fondest wish and rip her head off!!!!! But I more than trust your storytellers sense of direction. Looking out for the next one - always worth the wait!!!!!
Author's Response: Tidia and I needed to keep Rose alive for one more important story; but I promise she will get all that's coming to her. ;-) Ridley

Thank you. Reading this made me cry and made my day. This is definitely the best story you have shared with us, and that is saying a lot given the consistent outstanding quality of your stories. The conversation with Gideon was brilliant - completely unexpected - and worked perfectly. I can't wait for the final chapter. I am phoning my daughter to let her know this is up.
Author's Response: Thank you. It's been hard for me to judge this story based on the fact it has seemed upset a lot of people and others have seemed to enjoy it. Your comments helped a lot, because it's really been one of my favorites; but I tend to be a little biased. Thank you again, and I hope your daughter was happy with it also.

Wow - love the fact that Jim will return to Dean when he needs him, also the hints at the future are nicely worked in there. Bobby figuring out what had happened gives a nice counterbalance of opinion to Sam and Caleb. Caleb down right as a near demon - wonder what happens if he descends any further?!!!! Can't wait for the showdown!

Wonderful chapter. Your inspiration for Jim must come from a very spiritual source - he is such a lovable character, and I am glad you keep him in the picture, because he does nothing but deepen it. I found the talk about heaven and hell very evocative - you give such depth to Dean. Taking the journey with Caleb and Sam is building that relationship with stronger walls - awesome writing pulling the past and present together. Overall brilliance Ridley!!!

Wow! The Matthews boys and Ruby all hooking up with Sam, Bobby and Caleb to save Dean. Now that's quite a team! I hope someday we find out what unique abilities Dean has that Pastor Jim sees. He's always so cryptic.
