"This is so screwed" is right Dean....is it wrong that I'm lovin' it??  Great update - Kel ;)

Author's Response: Thanks Kel, and no, I don't think it's wrong - lol. Bring on the angst!...Jules

Great chapter, as always! Yeah! Bobby!!!! Why do I think that drugging Sam is going to end badly? And I'm thinking those bar guys are going to want revenge on somebody.... And I just know that Dean is going to head out on his own to figure out what's going on and it's just never, ever good when they split up... I don't suppose there is any chance someone will weaken you with more alcohol and there will be an extra post this week....? I love the angst over the deal - I really never got the feeling that Sam truly appreciated what Dean did for him - he was just so angry and pissy all season.... hope we see the penny drop here...

Author's Response:

Thanks Lisa. Alcohol is good - please send some, it's been a bad week... And no, it's not good when they split up, but somehow I don't think they're going to be left with much choice.

I think Sam got it regarding the deal - but I think that he's horrified that his brother is going to hell, and I think that deep down Sam doesn't think he's worth that kind of sacrifice. There's a lot of pain in that tall frame. And being faced with losing his beloved brother would have him so scared. And of course, being very much John's son, that fear manifests into anger. Sam's very driven and single-minded, just like John. But he has a big heart, probably like his mother, and he feels things so deeply. The consequences of the deal have been eating at Sam like a cancer, destroying him from the inside out....Jules

Loved Sam in the bar fight; now worried Dean---Dean having to drug Sam was a good idea. Can't wait for more!

Author's Response: Thanks for that. Glad you loved the pub brawl - lol. And yes, Dean's very worried about his rampaging little brother - but don't worry, he's getting closer to figuring out what's really going on...Jules

Great update! I love Fridays, your updates are the greatest. Sam is not going to be happy when he wakes up and finds that Dean has drugged him!

~Kayla

Author's Response: Thanks Kayla. No, Sam won't be a happy camper at all. All that anger just keeps brimming over as if it's pouring from a bottomless well. Something has to give soon....Jules

Wow, drunk Sammy is a feisty Sammy! He was so lucky to have Dean and Dave come to his rescue, he might want to remember that when he wakes up! Although he might not be so understanding about the sleeping pills, even if it was for his own good.. I feel so sorry for Dean, worrying about what that demon said as well as worrying generally about what the heck is going on. Let's hope Bobby has some ideas! Great chapter.

Author's Response: He is, isn't he? And drunk and having-his-strings-pulled Sammy is a really feisty Sammy! Sadly no, Sam won't really remember - well, he will, but not quite yet, as the anger burns that regret right out of him. Hopefully he won't get into too much more trouble before they figure out what is going on...Jules

Love this -- can't wait for more.

Author's Response: Thank you for that. Hope you enjoy the next chapter...Jules

I see you posted this one early - that'll teach me to only check on Fridays! Loved it as usual, especially the fight on the phone and then Dean knowing Sam was sorry without him having to say it. Although fancy Sam thinking Dean would run out on him *shakes head* He should know better. He should also know better than to hunt alone of course, that was always gonna end badly. And he so can't lie to Dean, can he! *g* But that parting shot.. Ouch. That was way below the belt :( Off to read the next one now..

Author's Response: LOL - hi, Michaela - yes, I threw in a wee treat. Aww, thanks hon. I'm glad you loved it - and especially glad that you allowed me to continue with it. And no, Sam can't lie very well to Dean - and the same goes the other way. The tension just keeps mounting though - something's got to give...Jules

An action packed chapter.

Great bar fight,Can't wait to find out whats wrong with Sam.

Author's Response: Thanks for that - I rather like the fight scenes, actually. For inspiration, I keep going back to that awesomely choreographed scene in Skin between Sam and shapeshifter!Dean. We find out what's wrong with Sam soon - but not quite yet...Jules

Wow, what a ride. Sam getting himself in that fight and Dean having to knock him out, that was so not Sam. And Dean knows it too. Now he has to find out what's going on. I'm glad he called Bobby for help. Sam is going to be so pissed, when he wakes up after Dean drugged him. Hope you will update soon, this is really awesome. Hugs, Vonnie

Author's Response: Hi, Vonnie - no, that's definitely not Sam - he's having his strings pulled, that's for sure. Thanks so much for reading - I'm chuffed that you're enjoying it. And the ride's not over yet...Jules

Reviewer: fredo (Signed) · Date: 11/07/08 08:01 AM · On: Chapter 4

ow, druging little brother... That won't make Sammy here less pissed once he comes through. But i have to say that a pissed off and angry Sam is quite capable, that was one hell of a bar fight!

Author's Response: Hello my friend - no, drugging Sammy won't make him feel all warm and fuzzy toward his caring big brother. Aww, thank you! I do sometimes think that Sam's fighting abilities are a bit under-rated, so I like to give him a nice punch-up occasionally....lol...Jules

I'm really enjoying this story! It flows nicely and i LOVE brotherly angst!!

Sarah :)

Author's Response: Thank you for that Sarah. Brotherly angst galore in this one. I'll have to start working on a humour one just to balance the scales - lol. Thanks for reading....Jules

Oooh, bar fight indeed! Scary!Sam, Scary!Dean, and something freaky going on...

roll on next week!

Author's Response: Yep, a good old-fashioned pub brawl - it's just a bit unusual for Sam to be in the thick of it... And something freaky is definitely going on - the boys are close to figuring it out, but not close enough...Jules

Yay! I'm so happy whenever I see that you posted another chapter to your story. Friday is too far away though! You have a great story on your hands here!

~Kayla

Author's Response: Thanks Kayla. But Friday's here! And man, it's been a flipping long week! So chuffed that you're enjoying this one. Hope you like the next chapter...Jules

Reviewer: vonnie836 (Signed) · Date: 06/07/08 02:34 PM · On: Chapter 3

Wow, this is a pretty awesome chapter. all the bickering and arguing. Every attempt of apology ends up with more arguing. Sam doesn't seem to trust Dean any more and there is sure something wrong. Getting himself hurt and not telling Dean what he was up to, wow. Can't wait for the next update. Hugs, Vonnie

Author's Response: Thanks Vonnie - and hugs right back to you! I love hugs! Even cyber ones. And yep, there is something wrong - they just haven't found out what. But they will....Jules

Absolutely brilliant,  You can almost hear the brothers arguing, when reading the story, looking forward to the next update

Author's Response: Thank you for that - I'm glad I could hook you in. The tension isn't over yet - hang on to your seat...Jules

Oooohhhh, something evil is definitely messing with our boys.  That last little bit with Sam first hitting Dean and then saying what he did was great!  So out of character for him which makes it incredibly intense.

I think we need to provide you with more of those yummy alcoholic drink thingys.  :-)

Author's Response:

Ohhhh, yes. But I can't tell you what it is. But yes, something is definitely not playing nice.

Ooh - more alcohol? mmmmmm - okay. *flexes fingers*...I'm ready - bring it on!...Jules

Cool - unexpected treat on a Sunday - definitely a good idea. Thank you ! Loved the image of Dean catching Sam out  pretending he'd fell over. Off to read 'A Comforting Sense of Home'  when I should be ironing x

Author's Response: LOL, it was a pretty boring Sunday, and I was too brain-dead to work on another story, so an update was the next best thing. Oh, and I'd read fiction over ironing any day, but that's me - I hate ironing. Right up there with cleaning out the fish tank or the cat litter tray.....Jules

Great update.

Dean and Sam's argueing is wearing me out.Lol.

Author's Response: Hang in there, hon, because unfortunately it's not over yet. But they do find out what is happening - soon - promise....Jules

Reviewer: fredo (Signed) · Date: 06/07/08 07:15 AM · On: Chapter 3

so unfair Sam!!! Bad bad kid! God, i don't know what these two would need, a good time apart from each other or a huge ug... Living in each other's pocket, with the stress of the deal added in the equation will kill them before their time. And it was sure than going hunting alone would definitely not help Sam to regain the adult status, he knows since he's a kid that hunting alone is danderous...

Anyway, see you can manage bi-weekly updates... Lol, at least when you're bored and alcoholic-ed enough...

Author's Response:

LOL - yes, he needs to be turned over someone's knee and have his behind paddled - I volunteer. You can hold him down.

The strain isn't over yet, unfortunately. There are some rough times ahead before the boys figure out what's going on...Jules

and I'm not commenting about the mid-week thing just in case Sarah's lurking and I get into trouble....

Reviewer: calUK (Signed) · Date: 06/07/08 07:04 AM · On: Chapter 3

oh boy, that's just nasty! gotta think that that last comment hurt Dean more than Sam hitting him did - and why the hell does friday have to be so far away? Can i buy you a glass of some really yummy alcohol stuff and make it come a little faster?

Author's Response:

Yes, you can, but unfortunately I won't have time to drink it until Friday...*sniffles*...

And yep, Sam's really dredging up the low blows - but why is that, I wonder...Jules

Two brilliant chapters.

I can't beleive Dean left Sam.

I'm looking forward to more of this story.

Author's Response: Ahh, but did he leave? Or was he pushed? (or did Fredo and I drag him away kicking and screaming - at least until we got the ropes and gag on him?)  Thanks for reading - hope you enjoy the next chapter....Jules

Hiya,

I can be a tardy reviewer as real life keeps me knuckled under but this story has me hooked and I just have to say my thanks.   The way you write the brotherly dynamics between Sam & Dean is truly electrifying at times.   Their love for each easily mutating into anger as they both strive to come to terms with the Deal and its impending consequences and the damage it is doing now.   On tenterhooks waiting for the next chapter to see where Dean actually is and how Sam is going to cope.

Author's Response:

Hey - welcome to the craziness that is one of my stories! Pull up a chair, grab a drink of whatever you fancy - ooh, and hang onto your seat for a couple of chapters - lol.

I know what you mean by real life grabbing you by the throat and not letting go. I'm a bit that way myself this month with end of financial year (I'm a bookkeeper). Thank you for taking the time out to review - it's much appreciated.

As for the boys - thank you for that. I love their dynamic, and the fact that they can be at each other's throats one minute and glued to the other's side in the next when something threatens. And that brotherly bond is so strong - I fear it might stretch an almighty long way in season 4, but I am keeping hopeful that it won't break.....Jules

OMG...Dean would not have left Sammy.  He must have that part wrong!!  I am so loving this story.  Keep it coming Jules.

 Denise

Author's Response: Hey, Denise - so you think Sam might have missed something? Perhaps Dean hiding in a corner? Or perhaps he's just ducked out for coffee....or something has grabbed him (namely Fredo and me)...LOL. Explanation - and more twists - to follow soon....Jules

Reviewer: mymuseandi (Signed) · Date: 05/07/08 06:18 AM · On: Chapter 2

Dean left?? without his beloved Impala?? and he was going to leave Sam there all alone and where is he going to go?????

Author's Response: Well, that's the hundred dollar question isn't it? Where is Dean? And with the Impala still broken, too. The plot, as they say, thickens...Jules

Reviewer: mymuseandi (Signed) · Date: 05/07/08 06:03 AM · On: Chapter 1

I hate it when Dean and Sam quarrel...or rather, i hate it when they quarrel and then one of them just walk away, because i just know that either one or both are going to get in trouble...and then the other gets angsty because he thinks it's his fault when it isn't!!! *deep breath* but i still read them though...kinda like this fascination like watching a train wreck..LOL

Anyway, on to see what went on....

Author's Response: Oh - LOL! Well, I hope I don't have this story turn into a train wreck! But I know what you mean - we've seen it happen time and time again. Separation while angry/angsty is never good. Good for we sadistic authors, perhaps....*grins*....Jules
