I like how this story ends.  There isn't a band-aid "all's well."  Everything isn't right in their world.  It's just a breather between one crisis and the next.  They've survived the most recent ordeal and have a little time to breathe and take stock of one another before they have to face the next trauma (which looks to be just around the corner).

You describe feelings, backgrounds of emotions in such dimension that your characters become real people with pasts, futures, fears and dreams.  You've blended Kripke's Sam and Dean Winchester into your world seamlessly.  You possess a magnificent talent!  Thank you for sharing it with us!

Seeing Kerri and Evelyn through Brian's eyes gives us a different paradigm.  We get a more complete picture of the sisters.  When you compare it to Sam's opinion of them we begin to see the changes that Kerri referred to in earlier stories.

How sad!  This story has shed a lot of light on Brian and you cna tell he truly loves Kerri.  too bad she wasn't able to reciprocate his feelings.  Now the only thing he can do for her is to save the men in her life that he wishes weren't there.

You mention in several places that Kerri doesn't keep in touch with people.  You compare the separation between she and Brian to that between she and Dean.  One seems lost and lonely and the other desperately clinging.  What a beautiful contrast!

I also enjoyed how her single-mindedness where Dean is concerned precludes the safety of all others, including Sam.  It was a mistake she made years ago and one that she continues to make.  She and Dean seem to be one another's salvation.

“And after you right all the wrong in the world, what’ll you do with your boundless free time.” Kerri chided, her hand resting comfortably on his arm, her smile back to full power. - hehehe.  Great story Mags...looking forward to finding out what's up with Evelyn... ;) Kel

“Ssshh.” Kerri smoothed, running a hand up and down his arm, finally realizing what Dean was doing. He was tapping against the wall, or at least he was trying to. From the state of his body Kerri assumed he hadn’t been able to actually hit the wall in quite some time, but it was the only thing he could do to comfort himself, to keep himself from going crazy, and Kerri wasn’t about to stop him. - ugh, just heartbreaking.....Hurry, Sammy, hurry. ;) Kel

“Stay away from millionaires.” Sam whispered back as he headed down the basement stairs.

“You’re funny.” He heard Kerri’s distant voice answer, the older girl already heading up to the upper floors. - HA!!!  excellent - Kel ;)

“That you could type in a search and get an answer?” - hehehe, leave it to Sam to geek out over Kerri's mind  - Kel ;)

Loved the conversation between Dean and Kerri, so much emotion in it. What a cliffhanger and we've to wait until February to know what  happened to Sam. Amazing work Maggie, can't wait for your second half of the story.

Dean woke up and with the bickering going between him and Kerri, he seems just fine. Time for the trio to go before Brian does something, I'm not trusting him. I'm looking forward to more.

Epilepsy? Evelyn protecting Kerri? Huh... Only one more chapter, really?...

What's going on with Sam. Did Evelyn do something to him. Poor Kerri, she's already worried sick about Dean and now it's Sam's turn. Can't wait to know what'll happen next.

Sam, common, don't you think Kerri's already enough freaked out?! Great chapter, I like Brian, he won't ever understand what really happens, but he seems to genuinly care about Ker, and if that helps to get him to help the brothers...

Brian's protectiveness is cute.  Maybe because he's so clueless.  Kerri knows what the Winchesters capable of doing.  They're far more dangerous than Brian could imagine.  And I'll bet Kerri could surprise her former fiance if he saw her in action.

Kerri's thoughts are so poignant.  She and Dean are perfect companions.  She understands him so well.  I especially loved the line, "Dean wasn't supposed to be broken, he was supposed to be a hero, to be her hero..."

"...and while Sam knew perfectly well that his brother couldn't control fate---Dean had still promised."  What a powerful statement!  It really shows the faith that Sam has in his big brother.

That last statement Kerri made sounds a lot like Dean.

The way time passes for Dean was a nice touch.  It seemed like any bored thought process.  Great job!  You had me drifting in time right along with him.

Very intriguing!!  Who was Evelyn trying to save----Kerri?  Sam?  All the other gifted children?  I can't wait to find out.  Oh, and of coarse, save Dean.

"He hated being alone, hated being in silence.  Because in the lonely silence was when his thoughts and emotions came thundering to the surface."

"...a little bit of the warmth he used to know was gone, replaced by a dark silence.  Replaced by solitude.  It all came back to solitude, to being alone."

I love how you keep reinforcing Dean's fear of being alone.  Every thought he has about being alone, being still, being quiet adds to the desperation of his present situation.  The way you tie past and present dangers with this one consistent thread is beautiful!  I can't wait to read the next chapter!

Kerri must convince Brian that Dean and Sam're not dangerous guys or they'll have to leave and Dean could die. Great work Maggie, I'm looking forward to more.

What a relief, they finally found Dean. So much poignancy in the scene with Dean and Kerri. I love this story so far, I can't wait for more.
