That's a good promise and I hope he keeps it!

Great job blending the Brotherhood storyline with your series.  I was afraid Kerri and Caleb would end up in bed and ruin all that wonderful bonding.  So glad they didn't!  It's nice to see Caleb can have an actual friendship with a woman.

Poor Kerri.  She really carries the weight of the world on her shoulders.  Caleb and Sam and Dean all have one another, but Kerri is truly alone.

Author's Response:

thank you so much, i'm so glad you liked it. i was worried i wouldnt be able to do the brotherhood justice.

and no worries, kerri isnt going to end up in bed with anyone... ever. lol.

Oh man, what can I say, Mags.

I love your Something Lost 'verse and Ridley's Brotherhood AU is also on my list of favs. Having the two combined, it's like hitting the SuperLotto.

And to complete the trifecta, Nothing Gold Can Stay is my favorite Robert Frost poem (brings back memories of S.E. Hinton's 'The Outsiders') -- gives me all sorts of warm, fuzzy feelings.

The interaction between Caleb and Kerri is wonderfully written -- you've nailed Ridley's characterization dead on.

And the Yoda comments had me chuckling. "Thanks, Yoda.” “Sure thing, Solo."

All in all, a wonderful one shot that will have me coming back several times to read over and over.

thanks!

Maggie, you did a terrific job blending the two series, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Kerrie and Caleb interact.  I can see the thought and effort you put into this and it worked perfectly...
