I love this chapter, but I think you know that already! But I thought I would just say it again! I love this chapter! All these emotions between the brothers is reaching a boiling point. I really hate Forge; I think he and Dean just need to duke it out. The ending is absolutely creepy...you really know how to write the creepy cliffies, Laura! Great job!

Great chapter, Laura. Poor Sam - he has a long road ahead of him. I've got a cat, too. She's nearly 15, and bossy as all hell. It's awful when they get sick - they can't tell you what's wrong, and they just look at you with those swimming eyes, wanting you to make it better. Sort of like Sam, I suppose - he can't tell Dean what's wrong - just hopes big brother can fix it. Sweet that Dean stayed outside the bathroom. Looking forward to the next update. This is a truly brilliant story.

Fantastic chapter, best so far! Sorry about your cat. Went through the same thing a few years ago with my 16 year old shepherd. It was hard. Held her as she died and buried her in the back woods. Sometimes I get the freaky pet cemetery thing going but mostly it feels good to have her close by.

I think this is one of the best chapters so far. Loved that Sam remembered to save Brandon's dog. She was adorable. Poor Sam!!! He has a long recovery ahead I think. My heart goes out to Dean. I have a cat to a I really love her alot. I hope your cat makes a full recovery.
Author's Response: Hehehhee....didn't want hate mail cause of the dog, and she's got a part to play later. Besides everyone needs a dog when they're having a rough time. Thanks for your thoughts on my cat, unfortunately there isn't much besides keep her comfortable and eating, she has an abdominal tumor. She's 16 1/2, never been sick, so I'm grateful for that. I'm a vet tech, and am lucky she has 5 excellent dr's to care for her. Laura

Oh, I love that little doggie! I just want to bundle it up and take care of it all my own, but I'm sure the brothers will do a great job. Sam's emotion for that dog and his promise was just so powerful. It gave me chills up and down my spine! Hope your kitty gets better and update when you can! BTW, so glad this isn't over yet!

Ok, first, I agree with the other review that this chapter seemed a bit rushed. I think we were all expecting some major asskicking from Dean. Also, Brandon's character's death was a little anti-climactic. One minute he was bleeding...next, his body is just there. And I really liked him! That being said (hope it didn't sound harsh) this is one of the BEST SPN fanfic stories I've read so far! (Maybe that why the expectations were so high **admitting shamefuly** Oh Yeah---What about GUY#2 from chapter 2???? Anxiously awaiting the next chapter!
Author's Response: When Brandon died they were in the dark, so Sam couldn't see it, only hear it, and since there was no reason for him to be noisy while dying, and agonal breaths are mostly motion not sound, I stuck to that particular way because it's what seemed most likely and realistic to me. He basically bled out, and when that happens the body just goes to sleep. I liked him too, so I didn't have the heart to kill him in a big, loud way. As for Dean getting in his major ass-kicking, and guy #2 (so far you seem to be the only one to mention him), let me just say this story isn't over by any means, the next chapter isn't the end. And those two things are sort of wrapped up together. I wanted to be able to spend time on it, and in this situation, again it seemed out of place to do that. This chapter is short, but I didn't want it combined with the next chapter, which is longer and entirely from Dean's perspective. Please forgive me.....lol I was trying to convey throughout the whole chapter Sam's (and from his view) and Dean's panic in wanting Sam out of the cage. I guess I overdid it a bit making the chapter have a rushed feeling. Thanks so much for your compliments as well as your comments. They're very much appreciated! Next chapter should be up in a day or two...hopefully I'll redeem myself....lol

Ok, were you tired? I found really short. Not to mention I think Dean would have did more damage to this guy. Beat the crap out of him, until he realized Sam was not stopping him. Cause some Dean angst on whether to leave him to the cops or kill him. Maybe even show a vengeful Sam wanting Dean to kill the guy. But I think it could have been bulked up some more. Or is that for the next chapter?
