Great ending!  I especially love that vinegar was the weapon of choice.  and what was up with the Impala?  She joealous of the young, hot model?

Author's Response:

Noooo, the Impala was just pissy at the Corvette for almost running into them the day before.  She's a bit protective of her Winchesters...  hehe

Glad you liked the ending, Shannon.  Thank you for leaving a review for the final chapter.

Loved the hurt Dean. This was story was awesome!

Author's Response:

Thank you very much.  I'm glad you enjoyed it so much.

LOL - don't stand in the way of Sam getting his geek on!

Wow - Ursula actually saved the day...wonders will never cease. And I really can't blame her for wanting to retire after that little nightmare episode. That was positively creepy as all hell.

Loved poor Mike's reaction, and Bobby's increasing frustration at being handed around from person to person and not Sam - lol. I think that he and Sam would have gotten along really well - geeks unite - LOL.

And did my eyes deceive me, or did the Impala get her carby in a twist when the Corvette showed up again? Can't blame her - she was almost T-boned by that idiot, and her boys were already hurting.

Great ending, Ness - real nail-biting stuff when the controller broke the salt line - actually the whole struggle was so tense - awesome work.

Jules

Author's Response:

Oh, yes, the Impala's carby was definitely in a twist when the Corvette showed up.  Super glad you enjoyed that.

Thank you, Jules, for all the wonderful reviews.  I'm so happy you liked this story.  For some odd reason, I didn't think people would.

Oh - a Dear Jane letter - never saw that coming. I almost felt sorry for her......

That scene in Dean's room sent shivers up my spine. Thankfully a lifetime of trusting Sam's voice is keeping Dean on the bed and inside the salt ring, but for how long will he be safe...?

Jules

Author's Response: Did you like that twist?  I initially resisted it, but it just wouldn't go away so I finally listened to the muse.

Holy Hannah!!!!! They've got Dean! *THUD*

Death shadows - oohhh, not good, not good. However, Sam ringing Bobby - very good, very good. I love Bobby. I'd definitely "kiss the cook" if I wasn't so far away. He's an awesome character, and such a mainstay in the boys' hectic lives.

Let's hope that Sam and Bobby can figure out how to save Dean from the shadows.

And oh, that bitch Ursula needs a smack upside the head - with a brick!

Jules

Author's Response: I know, Bobby is so much fun and a hoot to use in fanfic.  Loved your last line in this review.  LOL

Reviewer: mizpah (Signed) · Date: 25/02/09 03:12 PM · On: Extrinsic Motivation

Oh, my gosh! The thing is now in Monica! Dean's in deep shite.

Poor Sam's not even going to want to go for a pee break after this.

I'm beginning to love Mike. Great that he's allowing Sam to stay with Dean, especially after what happened. And I really loved the face-off between Sam and Ursula - go, Sammy!!! *waves imaginary pom-poms*. And Dean's comment about Sam being scary when he's angry was a gem.

Awesome work.

Jules

Author's Response: Thank you, hun.

All muses should come with a collar and leash to stop them running away...at least, mine should....

Can imagine those long legs of Sam's just eating up the stairs - that was great imagery. And thank heavens for the blood trail that Dean left, leading his brother right to him.

Oh, Dean, you've made a right royal mess of yourself, haven't you? But help is on its way - hold on! Somehow, though, I don't think Sam is going to leave his brother's side so willingly this time - nurse Perdue or no nurse Perdue!

Jules

Author's Response:

Yeah, my muse (who looks remarkably like Dean) likes to run away sometimes.

I'm so glad you liked the imagery of Sam ascending the stairs.  :-)

I absolutely loved your story! I was so releaved that Sam actually had  help from Nurse Purdeu! I can just see Sam trying out that science experiment with Dean laughing his head off!

Author's Response: Thank you so much!  I'm thrilled to know that you enjoyed this story!

Great ending,good old vinegar.

Author's Response:

Yeah, a pedestrian cure to be sure but I couldn't help myself.

Glad you enjoyed the read.

What a fantastic final chapter, just loved this rather unusual alliance fighting the creature (with vinegar!!) and can't tell how much I enjoyed protective Sam in this story; had the greatest time, your wonderful poems always an extra treat!!! Thank you for a great great ride!

Author's Response:

Ahhh, your review just warms my heart.  I truly was a little worried about this last chapter and the solution to the boys' problem.  Thought I might get a few disgusted scoffs.

And I'm particularly touched that you liked the poems at the beginning of the chapters so much.

Reviewer: Swellison (Signed) · Date: 24/02/09 10:26 PM · On: Battle Cry

Hi Ness,

Great closing chapter with the tense drama of Sam vs Nurse Thoen (will it break the salt ring or not?) and Bobby's information relayed by the bystanders. Sam saves Dean's bacon with vinegar;-) (heck, I'm channeling the Food Channel, now.)

Anyway, I liked the Impala revving her engine and flaunting her horsepower at that trouble-causing Corvette, and Sam wanting to test the bendy chicken bone theory at the end.

Great job!

Sue

Author's Response: Thank you!  I'm so glad you thought the chapter was tense.  Oh, and also glad you liked that little Impala/Corvette scene.  I thought I had to do something with that.

Reviewer: mizpah (Signed) · Date: 24/02/09 09:04 PM · On: It's Hungry

Yikes! He's out for the count and Sam's going to absolutely skitz when he finds Dean gone!

Hmm, and what was that piece of paper that Nurse Godzilla was reading? An incantation for the thing in Dean's room?

Scary, scary stuff - that thing coalescing out of the shadows and wanting to taste Dean - yuck!

But I have to say - thank you from the bottom of my greedy little heart for the mental image of Dean's hospital gown flapping open...*drools*

Sorry - I'm good now, I promise...

Jules

Author's Response:

hehehe  Sooooo you liked the hospital gown flapping open?  :-D  Me too.  Oooohhh, ME TOO.

Oh, my gosh! They're here????

That is going to send Sam into full-on little brother panic/protect mode.

Hell's bells, has the ghost already gotten to Ursula, or is she just a really, really big bitch? That icy smile sent chills down my spine, I can tell you.

Thank heavens Sam gave Dean his mobile phone before he left the room - at least Dean could call for help. Hurry, Sam - get those long legs moving!

Oh, and I'm sorry, I forgot to mention that I really love your poetry at the start of each chapter. You truly have a great gift.

Jules

Author's Response:

Thank you for commenting on the poetry at the beginning of each chapter.  I wasn't sure how that would go over but it seems to have met with positive response.

I'm soooo happy you're enjoying this story.  Hope you like the end equally as well.

Reviewer: mizpah (Signed) · Date: 24/02/09 08:52 PM · On: Weight of the World

If there is a ghost, I hope it gets Ursula....

That was a really lovely moment with Geri and Sam - and if I hadn't been at risk of choking on my sandwich, I'd have laughed out loud at her "open mouth, change feet" remarks after the hair on the chest comment! That was priceless!

Hmm, perhaps it's my suspicious mind, but was Dean just tapping on Sam's hand to reinforce his orders, or was there a message in that innocuous little tap?

Jules

Author's Response:

Awww, you really liked that Geri/Sam moment?  I was hoping people would.

Thank you for continuing to read.

Reviewer: mizpah (Signed) · Date: 24/02/09 08:44 PM · On: Do You Know Where You Are?

And it would be just the Winchesters' luck for Dean to be stuck in a haunted room! Yikes!

Poor Dean - confused and in too much pain to make sense of things. I think the doctors are more or less on his side, though, which is a relief.

So sorry to hear about Levi, Ness. I know how much pets can get into your heart. My cat is almost 17, and has been with me since she was rescued around three weeks old. I'm dreading the day I lose her, but I have a feeling that this might be her last year. My last cat had to be put down not long after my marriage broke up, and at the time it felt like everything to do with that part of my life was shutting down.

Hope you're doing all right, under the circumstances.

Jules

Author's Response: Thank you so much, Jules.  I appreciate your kind words about Levi.  He was very precious to me.

Hi Ness,

Cliffie after cliffie, you've got me super-anxious for Dean and really wanting to read the next chapter, soon.  You did a great job of conveying Sam's anxiety-laden conversation with Bobby while he's trying to be authoritative and reassuring to Dean and keep his brother in bed at all costs. Must've been very hard for Sam to walk away from Dean, trapped like that, but he did it.

So sorry to hear about Levi, I know how much a part of the family your pets can be.

Sue

Author's Response: Thank you, Sue.

Great scene with Sam and that wanker of a security guard, Ness. I love it when Sam uses his height to intimidate - he doesn't do it often, but when he does, it's a thing of beauty. Sam in full-on protective/pissed mode is downright scary.

Oh, and I'm so glad that little jumped-up sod missed the Impala and got his own shoe with that disgusting golly he hawked up.

Hmm...the docs are suspicious - not good. And Dean's about to wake up by the looks of things. This should be fun....*rolls eyes*

Well, I'm off again - right hand is going numb. But I'll be back.

Jules

Author's Response: Thanks again for leaving a review.  I hope your hands start feeling better, hun.

Reviewer: mizpah (Signed) · Date: 21/02/09 05:04 AM · On: Twenty Stitches in Time

*gasp*...that idiot has his foot on the bumper bar!!!! Dean will kill him if he finds out!

I liked Mike, even though he was a bit suspicious of the boys' injuries. And from what I can see, you did fine with the medical stuff - you impressed me.

This is probably not the right time to tell you that I'm a bookkeeper, not a doctor....*grins*....

Perhaps Sam should have taken Mike with him as backup - methinks the security guard is a wee bit pissy....

Jules

Author's Response: Heh--yeah, I thought this part of this chapter might be gasp inducing.  :-)  Glad to hear it.

Reviewer: mizpah (Signed) · Date: 21/02/09 04:57 AM · On: A Multitude of Restraints

Oh, my poor Dean - lost, hurt, sick and desperately trying to find the brother he thought was dead. Ooh, and he smacked the doc a good one, too - I don't think he's going to be their star patient, somehow.....

Love how Sam could soothe him, and could imagine Sam's fear, too, of seeing his brother restrained - no wonder the puppy eyes came out in full force. Even Tricksters aren't immune to those deadly little weapons.

And really loved Dean's head coming to rest against Sam's arm - that was a lovely "awwww" moment for me. And my Pollyanna soul needs those "awww" moments.

Great job, Ness - sorry it's taken me so long to get back. Pain in my hands is a bit too much for me to write tonight, so I'm reading instead - and I just had to catch up on yours. I love your work.

Remember that pedestal....ROFL!

Jules

Author's Response: Thanks, Jules, for taking the time to leave such a wonderful review, especially given that your hands are painful again.  Your words are much appreciated.

Never expected nurse Martin to be the one who worked this havoc (almost feel a bit sorry for nurse Perdue, on second thought no, she's just a mean person. The shadows surrounding Dean (great scene), some scary sight, totally gave me the creeps and now another evil cliffie - do something Sam!

Author's Response: Ahhh, so my red herring (mean ol' Ursula) worked then?  Yay.  Thank you for letting me know.  :-)  Glad you've enjoyed the tale so far.

Hah! - Left us with something of a cliffie here.......!

This is a great story, and I've been following it from the first -- And with that black slime, these "Thoen" sound nasty-

Good job!

(By the way, my deepest condolences on the loss of Levi -- I know quite well how dear one's pets can be.)

Author's Response: Thank you very much for your kind words about the chapter and also about the loss of my Levi.  They are greatly appreciated.

I had a feeling Nurse Perdue wasn't the one! She seemed to obvious, she' just a cold hearted bitch naturally! Figured it was the younger nurse. I hope Sam can stop her!!

Author's Response: Thank you, Moira, for all of your lovely reviews.  I'm really happy to hear you've enjoyed the story so far.
