the House of Dream was breathing??!! weird but great image... I'm glad David found Dean, hope he'll be able to help him, and for the moment to protect him. Can't wait to read more about Sam and Bobby also...

That was a wonderful description of the state of Dean once he gets back from Hell. Many are trying few are succeeding, you have done it. I could perfectly imagine and feel Dean's injuries. They weren't too few or too much. I can't wait for the reunion between Sam and Dean but the journey there is going to be wonderful. Thanks for another great chapter in a great series. I find myself wishing that they'd done something very similar (if not exactly this) in the show. Kim
Author's Response: This has me lost for words, (but not for too long...hehe) I am blown away by such a fantastic compliment though, and I thank you for it. It's a huge inspiration to get moving on this one, been having a few problems getting focussed again but you guys and your reviews are driving me on. Thank you so much! XX Louy

Lou, this chapter calls for another mad quoting session. So here goes: ...This was the Twilight Zone on acid... Damn right. Incidentally, isn't the whole show like some drug-enhanced version of Twilight Zone, gorier, eerier, fiercer and SEXIER though!! Owh, and I like how David quickly accepts the situation and detects the need to help Dean. ...“No hospital”... So like Dean. Even reduced to reflexive replies he still detests hospital. Some traits are just too deeply engraved into a person's soul. ...scraping the blackened skin off his forearms and elbows... Ouch. Must be either the adrenaline keeping Dean from responding to his various injuries or his experience in hell overshadows every “normal” pain or he is just reverting to reflexively pushing back the pain. But I think if someone survived hell's torture, a mere burn wound won't matter any more. And even small blisters hurt like hell (literally!!), don't they? ...unable to get his balance... Awh, Dean. Trying so hard but failing so bad. Come here, boy, and lemme give ya a hand! It's no wonder though: been to hell and back, Sam isn't with him, unable to remember much... how is a person supposed to find their balance (both mentally and physically) like that? He hasn't even found himself! ...“Don’t…need…hp”... Like the denial concerning the hospital this is just such a deep character trait that Dean subconsciously reverts to it. Sweet Dean, still fighting to hold up his game face... ...Where’s Sammy?... Typical. What's the first thing he remembers? Being responsible for Sammy. Even before he recalls his OWN NAME. Oh, come on Dean. Why is it always Sam first?! Take care of yourself! Uh, well. Anyway, we all love him for the big bro he is and his self-sacrificing attitude... ...one arm wrapped around his waist and the other holding an arm over his shoulder ... Instantly reminded me of Born Under a Bad Sign. When Jo helps him walk back to the bar. He stumbles and she holds him upright. Gawd, I love that scene. Where's my drool bucket?? ...Every drop of rain was a metallic teardrop caught in the beam from the streetlamp, even the puddles in the dips in the asphalt were rippling coils of silver on black... And there we go again. Out of the blue you come up with something as poetic, brilliant and beautiful like this! Lou, how do you do it? I am deeply impressed. Reread the description several times to relish its beauty... It reminds me of a picture in a graphic novel, very clear, black, white and silver and it actually feels like being drawn with black ink. AWESOME. ...overcooked meat... That para is just so gory (which I like!). God, poor Dean. Once he realises his injuries he'll be screaming- or maybe not being the world's greatest fighter against pain... ...You are turning out to be one huge pain in my ass, you know that? ... Yeah, Dean just has that effect on those who care about him and wanna help him, doesn't he? Still doesn't keep me from wanting to nurse him back to health. And I so like a pissy Dean. Which is what he always turns into when he is hurting and someone (usually Sam) mother-hens him. ...I was meant to find you... Yeah and I like to know more about the mysterious connection between the Winchesters and David, Milligan and Lomax and Dream. What the hell is going on? Don't you think I lost track of that! I really love a good mystery to solve and this here has me flabbergasted. Mostly I can tell who the killer is right from the beginning or how it's gonna end. But this story just won't let me find a clear grip. AWESOME. ....Deal ... felt Dean stiffen and catch a breath... No wonder he sucked in his breath. But David wouldn't know. And Dean seems to remember on a very subconscious level. Maybe his experience in hell just stands out against everything else. Maybe he will remember all of it sooner or later. Rather sooner than later that is... ...eternal question for a hunter like Milligan: how many sacrifices make the kill worthwhile?... The eternal question for every hunter! Don't Dean an d Sam discuss similar misgivings all the time? Ah, being a hunter is never easy. Still wish they'd exist cos real life sucks sometimes and going off on a hunt would help a great deal to vent some of the anger and rage... ...weaponry all laid out in a perfect display... They are all a bit anal about their weapons aren't they? OK there's a reason why I wouldn't make a good hunter then. I am so MESSY. My guns would jam every second try! Even sloppy Dean keeps em well oiled and all. I just wouldn't do it! ...raw muscle bulged under semi-translucent skin... Hm. Pallor and muscles bulging, yummy... Phew. Had a lot to say and could've done more. But I guess this shows you how very intrigued and impressed I am, how much your story resonates with me. And I am proud to know you and dare to call you my friend. Lou, you ROCK! And update soon, cos the collapsing house left me sitting on the edge of my chair. And that will be very uncomfortable for more than a few days!! Hugs, Ilka
Author's Response: Damn, Ilka your reviews are like oxygen, they give me a head rush just to look at them. Thank you so much for taking the time to write in such beautiful detail...to pick each element and expand on it, making me feel like nothing was lost or redundant. And lastly thanks for always being at the end of the IM, prepared to listen to my ramblings and gripes. You are a wonderful friend. Thank you! XXX Louy

Hi Louy, Well, you know it's a good story when you're so gripped by it that you start shouting at the characters on the page. And I have been doing that a lot with this! I wanna ring Bobby and Sam and tell em where Dean is. I wanna warn David to avoid Lomax and start listening to Tony. But mostly, I want to whisper comforting words into Dean's poor, charred ear. Great as always. Looking forward to more! Kirsty xxx
Author's Response: Kirsty... There's a few things I would like to do to Dean but whispering in his ear is way down the list. oops I've said too much... Thanks my friend, for all your input and for your great reviews...XXXX Louy

I didn't see that coming...i know something was a bit off with him but the thought that he's a hunter never crossed my mind!

Ooohhh, great update. Yay for David for helping our scorched boy! As always, your detailed writing set a wonderful mood--just like being right there in the middle of things. And I practically clapped when I saw "pyroclastic cloud". I was not familiar with the term until about three days ago when I watched a tv special on the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79A.D. They used the term "pyroclastic flow" and that was what hit the city of Herculaneum a few hours after Pompeii was destroyed. Anyway, it's always fun to learn a new word or term and then suddenly see it somewhere unexpected. hehehe (Sorry to go off on a tangent there. Forgive me.) (OH, and I absolutely agree with everything Bev said below.)
Author's Response: Hah, that always blows me away when that happens. I think we must watch the same channel...lol Thanks for the great review Ness and the lovely stars, I'm smiling from ear to ear. XX Louy

Lou. Kitten waek Dean struggling in David's arms - ok gonna die with pleasure! And then if you don't have sweetheart David undress him... OK, lust aside - Wonderful chapter. Dean wreaks of the terror he has endured just as he wreaks of smoke and burnt flesh. Love David's calm strength and resilience. Great job Bev xx
Author's Response: Does your lust know no bounds Bev? There's me, describing an urgent first aid situation, and there you are reading all sorts of smut into it...well, OK. But. We wouldn't have you any other way...lol Thanks hun and we're all missing you like mad here. Come back soon! XXX Louy

OMG. you meant to say that Dean was transported back to the land of the living but not from where he was taken?? Sam and Bobby must be in panicky mode by now!!!!!!!! and Dean sounded as though he lost his mind even though he was in Hell for 7 hours....or was is 7 seconds??
Author's Response: Aha!!!! All will be revealed, but he's back and he'll have a few side-effects (as he should, having been through hell) but he's still our boy...lol Glad you're enjoying this, mymuseandi, I'm having a blast writing it...:) Thanks for another great review and lovely stars..XXX

It lasted all morning and Dean had borne witness to it all. Up with the dawn, not like he’d slept anyway, he’d been right there standing in the doorway looking at the waking morning in all its glory. And it was a bitter pill to swallow. On this, his last day on the planet, the world had decided to present him with a sky more suited to a cheesy view of what heaven was meant to be…just as he was getting ready to head in the opposite direction. Even in his last day of his life it has to be ironic and depressingly sad........and yup it looked like a deathfic to me!!!! Ok. onwards to the next chapter...
Author's Response: 'Ye of little faith'...I can give you a tiny teaser, and let you know that I'm working on chapter 8 right now and our boy Dean is in the thick of the battle and saving the day, so do not worry...lol Thanks for the review and the stars mymuse, I always love to hear from you...XXLouy

Louy. Thank you for the quick update. I needed a dose of Dean and Sam... ...Sam sat, corpse-like and dazed, as a stagnant pool of self-reflection pulled him down and tried to drown him... aaww. Sam. Feel like drowning too. Self-recrimination is a bitch. He shouldn't work himself up too much though. Otherwise he'd be desperate enough to try something foolish, like Dean with his godforsaken deal. ...Sam was different, instead of a frenzy of anger; he was fading, wasting away... sniffle. Fading away. But Dean always is the fighter while Sam almost always thinks and broods. ...the only thing that could bring him back was his brother.... And you Lou, BRING HIM BACK! ...tiny cracked voice sound like an orphaned child... Owh, this is tearing my soul apart. And it is so true as Dean always was like a father to Sam. Now that he is gone it is no wonder Sam feels alone and is devastated, especially as he thought he had a perfect way to keep his brother with him. ....mimicking a tame raccoon living on his chin.... HAHAHA! Thanks for the laugh amidst all the tears. I am really close to tears today. So it wasn't that hard to soak my cheeks but thank you for the laughter. Raccoons Rock. ...just huddled and shivered, barely making a sound except for ragged breathing and a hitched sob... God. This poor man. But I am soooo glad he is back. Not sure if he is whole, but he's back. And those burns seem terrible, like in David's dream, Dean has literally gone through hell. Can't wait to read how this is going on. Always thought Dean would come back to earth on that graveyard and I am glad David is there to take care of the broken warrior. ....eyes huge, raw and searching…and piercing malachite green.... uuuuhhh. Those eye are piercing right through my heart Louy. Someone hug him, quick. Even if he lunged at me, I would hug him till all bad things have been cleared away by tears and sobs.... like thunderstorms clear away dust and debris... Lou, I am so impressed by this work. You are a true author, never rushing over tiny bits, always straight and forward, never wavering and constantly writing in a way that touches my deep in my heart and soul. I am still sobbing, though that is due to my momentary condition as well as your writing. Hugs you, Ilka
Author's Response: Ahhh, Ilka, thank you so much...and yep I forgot to mention that I can bring him back too...and I am...! Thanks Ilka and I hope your mum is better real soon and you have a better day tomorrow...IM me later XX Louy

Oh, wow, I didn't expect the twist at the end with Dean being back in the old cemetary. Louy, your description of Dean's condition (for whatever reason the melted boots in particular) just took my breath away. My own breath was hitching and tears were welling in my eyes. And this part of a line snagged my attention and wouldn't let go: "eyes huge, raw and searching...and piercing malachite green." (I've got a little thing goin' on with Dean's despair-filled eyes lately. Even composing a poem since I can't get them out of my head.) And "malachite green"--what a wonderfully superb description of their color. Another incredible installment, my friend. I haven't said it enough lately, but I so love your writing.
Author's Response: I know exactly what you mean, I have a thing going with Dean's eyes myself at the moment, especially right at the end of the last episode, so black and desperate...awe... Send over any poem you write on THAT little topic, I'll gladly read it, and thanks for the lovely review and the stars....XXXLouy

Hi Louy, Well, orphaned child is about right, isn't it? Poor Sam. Love the way you drew the parallels Bobby saw between the boys even as they coped so differently with each others deaths. And getting in the Sword of Damocles? Kripke is so often quoted as saying it hangs over the whole show but maybe it's just been over Dean's head this whole time... Excellent as always. Kirsty xxx
