On principle I usually never read death fics, but I'm glad I made this exception, this is just wonderful! Great idea to have Sam looking back to some of his birthdays and there always was Dean; so yes Sam can't survive losing his brother, very sad but I loved the way you did this!

I'm not even sure how I feel about death fics, I know I would hate to see what happened in this story really happen in the show - I'd be a gibbering wreak if it did. That was incredibly sad and as much as I hate to say it, probably very close to the truth. Incredible story, thank you so much for sharing it. Yes, a deathfic but a very well written one that is worthy of all the shiny stars I can doll out.

Author's Response: Thank you. I was a little worried about posting a death fic. They are not normally my cup of tea and I used a writing style I hadn't tried before. This story got stuck in my head and wouldn't go away. I'm over the moon that you liked it. Liz x
