Touching and really, really good! You're doing a great job Jules. Thanks!
Author's Response: Thank you, Dagmar. I must admit, I'm a real sucker for brotherly moments. Glad you're enjoying this one. And I hope you love the epilogue.....Jules

poor Sammy, so lost... As for Dean, i decided to do the ultimate sacrifice, the guy needs a long and tender hug, and i volunteer to do it. Looking forward to the epilogue...
Author's Response: And you didn't invite me?????? I would have sacrificed myself too, hon!!! That reminds me - must send you a wallpaper that my auntie made of Dean - something about his body being a temple but it needs the occasional worshipper - lol. Now, don't forget, if you're off to give Dean a long and tender hug, save some of him for me, too.....Jules

Another wonderful chapter. Looking forward to the epilogue.
Author's Response: Thank you, and thanks for reading. This was originally five chapters and an epilogue, but it sort of blew out...probably because I suffer from verbal diarrhoea ( I talk too much) and that translates to the written word as well...LOL. Hope you enjoy the epilogue....Jules

Another great chapter looking forward to the next update.
Author's Response: Thank you for that, and for the review. Glad you liked it. I had originally cut the boys' down time a bit short, so I padded it out a bit. Hope you enjoy the epilogue....Jules

Another lovely chapter. Poor Dean, he really does find it so hard to forgive himself. I liked watching Sam take care of him though and have no doubt that he's going to get this sorted somehow, for both of them. Looking forward to the epilogue :)
Author's Response: Thanks Michaela! He does find it hard, doesn't he? It's really the pot calling the kettle black when he keeps telling Sam he has to let things go. Ready for the 'so not a chick flick moment'? Hope you enjoy it.....Jules

Very nice chapter. I really liked the part about how precious life is. Laura
Author's Response: Thanks Laura. That part, and the little brotherly moment in the epilogue, were the first things written. I had to actually work backwards to get the first chapter, and then marry everything up - lol! I tend to do that a lot - have a couple of random scenes, and then work to string them all together....Jules

I adored this chapter. I love all the angst and guilt. Fantastic update. I'm going to be sorry to see this one end. Thanks for sharing it with us all.
Author's Response: Awwww, you're making me blush! *scuffs feet*.... Glad you love the angst - this one was an angsty story right from the start. And funnily enough, it's the first story that I have set during the time when Sam/Jared had a broken arm. Heaven only knows why I left that time-line alone up until now. Just a wee bit more guilt to come in the epilogue - hope you enjoy....Jules

This story has had me hooked from the start--great job! Can't wait for the next chapter! Love when Dean is in big brother mode!
Author's Response: Thank you for that. I must admit, I'm quite partial to Dean in full-on big brother mode, too. Well, okay - I'm quite partial to Dean in any mode.... Thanks for reading, and I hope that you enjoy the epilogue....Jules

Wonderful chapter. Aw, Dean and Sam sleeping together on the same pillow. I love the doc. He sure has a good sense of the strong bond between the brothers. No need for an evil cliffie here. We are still looking forward to the next update :) Thank you Jules.
Author's Response: Thanks for that. I was a bit nervous with parts of this story - I'm so glad everyone is enjoying it so much. Hope I never disappoint you all.

Aww...the thought of both of them sleeping with their heads on the same pillow is so cute.....and both Dean and Bobby are going to have a serious talk for feeling so guilty when it's obvious both of them can't do a thing about it...
Author's Response: Yep, serious guilt coming up. Glad you liked that little moment. I had to be nice to them after everything I just put them through - lol. There's a few nice moments in the next chapter - and no cliffie again (must be slipping...)
Reviewer: fredo (Signed) · Date: 31/05/08 04:27 PM · On: Chapter 5
no cliffie? Common girl, they could slip from the pillow, be attacked by possessed surgery instruments, or even worse, lose the towels!!! Lol, anyway girl, you don't need to end your chapters with evil cliffies to be sure i'll be back for the next one...
Author's Response: No cliffie. Um - losing the towels would be a good thing though, wouldn't it? Although I could have written a really evil cliffle where the boys lost the towels, just as a dozen eager fangirls burst through the surgery door....would that do? LOL. Thank you my friend. It just wouldn't be the same without your reviews. And your yummy bribes - er, pics....*blush*...

Wonderful patch up job Jules.. loved Dr. Saul ;) Great update and I look foward to more - K
Author's Response: Thanks for that, Kel. Thought Saul would be a nice contrast to the last sawbones they ran across. He even stands up to our boy! In a nice way, of course. Hope you enjoy the next chapter.

Poor Dean and Bobby! Though it wasn't their fault, they still feel guilty! Update soon! =-b
Author's Response: No, it wasn't their fault. Bobby has a chance to work through some of his guilt very soon. Dean's still a long way off...

this chapter was totally AWESOME!!! You are so right on with the relationship between the boys , and their connection to their other father Bobby. Guilt is the Winchesters middle name - one is always blaming themselves for the hurts of the other- yet, these 2 halves make the whole picture that is Sam and Dean-OUTSTANDING job. every little huff, grimance , ow, tear-all perfectly detailed to bring your readers into the doctors clinic -to be there with the boys.EXCELLENT Dean is totally beating himself up- I think Sam will have to cheer him up. Both boys will have to make Bobby feel better for leaving Sammy in the woods. this was just a perfect chapter -you are a great writer and so well attuned to the Winchester way. more please. Bravo!!!!
Author's Response: I really love Bobby as a character, and as a surrogate father for the boys. I have really enjoyed seeing lots more of him during season 3. And I hope there will be lots more in season 4. He's such a great support for our boys. And yep, you're right on the money - the Winchesters seem to have the monopoly on guilt. Thank you, and I hope you enjoy the next chapter - Dean's guilt gets another workout.

Really great chapter. I really like the doctor, it's nice to see someone else who gets the boys and their relationship. Nice tie in with John too, especially the fact he clearly remembers him well! I feel so sorry for Dean with all that guilt though, and Sam feeling helpless to do anything for him. Lovely final scene/image. I can't wait to see them sort it all out, and for Bobby to make peace with what happened as well :)
Author's Response: Saul Collins makes a nice contrast to the other bas....not so nice doctor, doesn't he? Bobby gets to make some of his peace in the next chapter. But Dean - well, he always takes the hard road, doesn't he?

Poor Dean carrying all that guilt on his shoulders, you wrote it so well I could picture it in my head, Looking forward to the next chapter.
Author's Response: Thank you for that. Dean's guilt trip is far from over. Glad you are enjoying this.

You dont always need a cliffie for a good story Really good chapter.
Author's Response: Thank you for that. I must admit, I am rather addicted to cliffies. But there are occasions when I resist the temptation - lol.

What a great chapter!
Author's Response: Thank you for that. Not my usual cliffie, but I wanted a nice little moment after all I put the boys through.

Great update. Poor Dean and Bobby feeling really guilty.
Author's Response: Yes, and it's not over for them yet. Although Bobby's guilt will be a bit easier to sort through than Dean's - and isn't it always?
Reviewer: SupernaturalGeek (Signed) · Date: 27/05/08 02:53 PM · On: Chapter 4
Great chapter - I was so excited when they found Sam but poor Bobby is gonna feel so guilty now, not to mention Dean of course. I'm really glad that they're not going back to the hospital and that jerk of a doctor though, he'd definitely jump to the wrong conclusion again *grumble* Can't wait for the inevitable 'not a chick-flick' moment that is bound to be coming. More please :)
Author's Response: Oh, yes - especially after he jumped to the wrong conclusion about the bruises and the cut to Sam's head courtesy of Andy's girlfriend and the tree branch she hit him with. No, the boys won't have to face that particular nasty piece of work again. (the doctor, not Andy's girlfriend) Ahh, the 'so not having a chick-flick moment' - well, that's coming, but there's a bit of angst to get through first. Thanks hon.

Awww poor boys and poor Bobby. Nice touch with the cell and Morse code.
Author's Response: Thanks - that was actually one of the original ideas I had way back when I first created the story. It's been in my to do folder for a few months. Glad you liked it.

Aw....Guilt gotta love the guilt. And that poor bear taking all the blame ;) Though of course none of us would have blamed him for wanting to nibble on some Winchester ;)
Author's Response: Yep, the poor bear - Fredo's going to think I have it in for helpless animals and objects, especially after the carpet-killing incident. And no, the bear really did have good taste, honest. I mean, yummy Winchesters - who can resist? Grab a fork and let's tuck in.
