CAL. OMGOMGOMGOMG.... DEAN!DEAN!DEAN! (Am I right in supposing it's him?) You have me in tears within 10 minutes and only about 400 words. OMGOMGOMG, *sniffing madly* This just as bad as watching the trailer for the finale! Get a grip woman! Sorry, had to steady myself... ehem... I normally quote a lot, but I would have to paste in the whole chapter... At a loss, here... Uh, focus... quoting ....one more ghost among the years of memories, blood pooling in his hands and falling with his tears to paint the pictures in crimson streaks, diluted with salt and guilt and grief.... very poetic, first tears falling while reading... ....he finally he cried aloud, voice ripped and shattered, and lost in the dark, unheard by the one his words were meant for, the only family he had left.... this is just like the What-am-I-supposed-to-do-scene in AHBL2.... Cal, honestly, brilliant, emotional and very poetic start to the new story. I'm already hooked. DANG! Never gonna finish LINKS now, all on your conscience, hun... Just kidding. Cal, Cal - you never dissappoint do you? here we are one chapter and I'm terrified by your weaveworld of Darkness. I see the eyes that breathe cold tendrills of madness into and around our boys and I am nervous for their soul and psyche. You are a twisted, edgy, clammy with fear sort of a gal and gee that's so cool! More hunny, I have goosebumps that need the gentle whisper of terror to tease them to delight! Straight into the brobond and an evil baddie already wreaking its havoc - awesone stuff. Your description of the emotions whirling through Dean's head was sensational, loved it. His flashback made my heart stand still, his lingering pain in that memory beautifully portrayed. This line is an absolute stunner "...hidden to anyone else; the love and respect that he’d treasured for so long,.." Your imagery was strong, but just look at your previous chapter - no surprises that the quality of the rest of the story's gunna be fantastic. This is a kicking description that just screams Dean "Only when he’d searched a complete three-sixty, did he bend to peer back through the still open door, quirking an eyebrow at the figure huddled in the passenger seat..." You so nailed Dean's instinctive behaviours of protective bigbro and honed hunter in one impressive image. And I got a grin outta that sniff. Dean's "Dude! I taught you better manners than that!” and Sam's “No, you didn’t.” was pretty cute! Loving your work!

Cal. Oh hunny, this is a hell of an opener. Already I am scared for what lies in those shadows and in the shadowed soul of the broken creature you paint here before us. There's a delicious darkness to your words highlighted by great swathes of crimson, along side this breaking heart so I think I might call it Crimson Shadows! But then what do I know! Author's Response: I think I might a little scared of this story's shadow too, since it's feeling a bit darker than anything else I've written. Oh but it's fun to walk in the dark, sometimes...
