Author's Response: Hey, idjit! lol The thing is, this story was written BEFORE Dead Man's Blood, back before the show addressed their version of vampires. I was using the Buffy mold, not to mention this was my first story ever! I gotta say, I did feel bad when they aired DMB, but I do love how they represent vampires on the show. Sometimes you win one and anticipate where show is gonna go, and sometimes you get egg on your face. I hope the rest of the story held your interest and was enjoyable. I want6 to know when Sam actually got taller than his 'big' brother!!! Sam without Dean on All Hallow's Eve. This can not be good.
Author's Response: Hate to admit it, but do I mention the height thing in here? If so I might contradict myself. I'd imagine by the time Sam was 16 he was probably the same height as Dean, then by 17-18 he passed him. A late teen growth spurt, after all Dean ain't short either. Author's Response: Thanks so much! This was the story that started it all for me. Jensen was just so mesmerizing in Scarecrow when Dean snapped to attention on the phone call from Dad and I just needed to figure out in my own head what might have happened when he was a kid to explain his compulsion to follow Dad's orders. Later, they gave us the episode Something Wicked, but I've always felt my story could still have happened too, just one more reason for Dean to be so obsessive over protecting Sammy.
