This is such a wonderful story.  You know gowing up with John Winchester as a father had to be hard (although I am crazy about the man) We know he wasn't a perfect father, but I don't think you can ever doubt at how much he loved his sons.  Thanks for a great read.

Author's Response: I too love John, but you have to recoginze his failings too.  He is such a complex man, just like his sons, but he totally always without any doubt loved his boys.  Thanks for reading one of the early ones and letting me know it still has meaning.  Later, B.J.

well i love your story - it's funny cause when i watched nightmares again and sam said this i was really expecting a flashback from dean.

The look Dean had when Sam said they could have had Max's childhood, just seemed to indicate Dean was remembering something.

There is no doubt there were rough times in the beginning with John trying to cope and they had referenced the drinking before and things happen when you drink.

I hope the show has more flashbacks for us cause that truly does bring insight into these characters.  Thanks, B.J.

That was so touching - I loved the scene where Dean told John he would never let him hurt Sammy that way.
