Hey Cal! - I really love this drabble -- very lovely little tag to an outstanding episode- nice stroke: the 1,983 stitches- ;-)
Author's Response: Thanks! I needed a number and that one just kinda... sprang to mind. Twisting the knife much? heh Glad you liked it - off to read yours now I'm up to date and unspoilerable!

I like that it's open. It doesn't really matter what it is he needs saving from, it's the "always" that counts. This is lovely, short sweet and just enough :)

Very good, it makes me think of a devil's gate.

Awww...I LOVED this. SO sweet. This was a lovely, poetic description: "They sat there, bright colour dusted over the once-blue quilt, a rainbow across faded sky, the soft tapping of laptop keys a light summer rain." And this was a wonderful depiction of their relationship: "...he stared for a moment; remembering those eyes gazing back, caring for him, keeping him fighting. The child he'd sworn to protect, no matter how tall he grew...the pot of gold that was all he'd ever needed". *sniffle* Just beautiful.

It's taken me a long time to catch on to drabbles. The more I've read them, the more I realize first, how HARD it is to keep things to just 100 words! And second, how much you have to focus on packing a punch in a little package. You do this very well, and I enjoy reading them.
Author's Response: first time I saw a drabble, I thought; 'well what the hell's this?' - but once I got it, I have to say I've grown to love them. I think they're often more rewarding to write than they are to read, but they are high impact, and they're a great way to write a difficult scene quickly! Glad you're enjoying them, hun!

First thought: DEVIL'S GATE. Might be a cool thing for a multichap ... Second thought: OMG, wonderful. LOVE this one! Third thought: 'twas the seapiglets that tortured you! Not the bunnies. And they prefer cucumber! Heehee... Great one, Cal. More please! Oh, by the way... I finished Matti and Rafe... they are just sooooo edible... Oh and the story is beta'ed too.... heheee- Loves ya, Ilka

Oh no! - He'd never in a million years let go-! Maybe you have enough carrots for this particular bunny?? -- Good job!

This is just lovely - almost like a poem - And, yes, "What Is And What Should Never Be" is just about the most awesome episode anywhere, and you've served it well with this very fine drabble!!

A very powerful drabble, heartbreaking.

Aw, no easter bunny? Me neither... Anyway, who needs an the easter bunny when you can find an intense, powerful story like this? The second he gazes up in the epi, after stabbing himself and before the cut to the real world he seems to doubt his decision even though it's too late. It all slows down and he seems to be looking doubtful into the camera (might just be me again... overinterpreting and drooling over every inch of him). That made me think too, but I could've never done such a terrific job! Especially in such few words. See? My review is already longer than your ficlet. Love the gory line about his heart and the sweet, heart-breaking one about his Mom's perfume lingering on ... hmmm. And I love that he finds hope in doubt... just like it should be. Only those who dare to doubt will find the blessings of hope. Sorry going all biblical here... must be due to EoD... Sad thing though is, that if he hopes this would be the one percent it would mean he WANTS to die... Scary and sad thought... Damn, I need to watch that epi now. I was about to go to bed! Hugs ya and thanks again for the beta job! You rock hun! Ilka

Another beautiful piece! How sad and longing.

This drabble may be a prophetic end to the series. It would be cool since the boys first used those nicknames for one another in the pilot. Excellent drabble!
Author's Response: They did? Wow. I'd forgotten that... It is kind of an ending - I saw the film once when I was a kid and that last scene stuck with me. Then it just kind of clicked with Dean and Sam. Glad you liked it - and thanks for the mad reviewing session!

Luuuuv it! I never thought of it before, but Hell was the only place where Dean actually allowed himself to let his emotions out.

This describes the relationship and trust between the two brothers so well! Their bond goes beyond what normal brothers have.

How sweet! Clever to use Dean's favorite candy this way!
Author's Response: wow - that's a nice way to start sunday morning. a whole heap of reviews... you've been busy! Glad you liked it - think this was probably the first (and possibly only!) piece of real schmoop I've written.

Very palpable emotion here - and I love the repetition of "It didn't matter..." Another good one, Cal!
Author's Response: Thank you! I love drabbles for that very reason - 'gimics' like that repetition work, and for some reason 100 words tends to come out very, very emotional!
Reviewer: darkhunter (Signed) · Date: 04/03/09 11:47 AM · On: The Greatest Hits of Mllet Rock
A very good drabble.
Author's Response: Thanks!

Cal yeah, the silence beneath the music...nuff said! lovely! bev xx
Author's Response: Was gonna be the title, but it would've given the game away. I never liked the whole iPod thing (although it was a very funny scene!), this just seemed to bridge the gap between grieving and trying to move on for Sam. If playing Dean's music as loud as he could didn't work, then maybe it was time to try his own. Ta hun! Enjoy Watchmen at the weekend! (Wish I could make it... :()

Damn, that was right on! I love the first two lines- made me see the ipala from the outside, shaking a buzzing, almost comically. The the last line goes and breaks my heart....
Author's Response: Glad you found some funny i it - felt pretty bleak when I wrote it, but I always like it when there's something nicer there, before I go and twist the knife... Ta!
