Oooohhh!  Very intriguing and spooky.  Not sure I like the choice he's going to make.

Truly heart-breaking!

"salt lines laid down across his face drying."  What a twist on the familiar phrase.

How tragically sad.  Poor boy.

Aw, is right.  What else can you say?  That is just too sweet.

A very powerful little drabble.

Love it - Absolutely!

Um... You're trying to kill me, aren't you?

Devastating... - But........  Great writing, Cal-!

Oh - The pictures keep flashing in this one - very palpable, very intense -- You're an awesome drabble writer, Cal :)

*sniff!*  SO SAD!!!  I liked the salt lines laid down across his face.  Lovely line.

Reviewer: darkhunter (Signed) · Date: 25/10/09 05:06 PM · On: Prelude - Hollow

That was heartbreaking, so very very sad.

Reviewer: RoweenaC (Signed) · Date: 25/10/09 03:22 PM · On: Prelude - Hollow

aaaaaaaaaaaawwwww... can't ... even... speak.... *chest hitches*

Dude, you full on hit home with what I was asking for. And you will so be in the notes to my next vid.

Love the salt lines drying on Dean's cheeks after the pyre... almost like he's been salted and burned too...

Poor Sammy, poor Dean. That's just evil... The numbness and denial...the grief and loss... oh the utter pain...

see I can't even form sentences? So, painful. So sad... I'm gonna get back atcha for that. With the vid. You'll see! You'll cry torrents and lakes and oceans!

*snatches buckets to empty it... not drool this time*

 Hugs ya, Ilka

Hey Cal

Review for all 1-21...sorry never got to read them before, its quiet today at work!

Great all of them, very poetic in feeling and a mixture of dark and lighter ones.  Nice and the banners too ;)

Yeah, lots of angst, but another great drabble.

A glimpse behind Dean's mask.  We see what he wants us to see but he can't hide what's behind it from us.  You've exposed him.

Author's Response:

Wow  thanks for the reveiws! Glad you liked them - sorry I lost you on Hole It is an odd one - on the surface it is pretty simple, but there's a lot of layers. I guess it depends when you look at it being set - put it in S2, for example, after Sam's found out what John told Dean and 'save me' becomes a whole lot more important, as does Dean's 'always' if you set it in S3. We know then the lengths he'd go to to save Sam, and what it does to them both. Which in turn makes that laugh - slightly hysterical, a little bitter - more 'potentious'. Like a foreshadowing of what's to come. Set it in S4 and the 'gravity' pulling Sam away becomes the forces that come between them over the season, and of course, then Dean's 'always' is again the pivotal point - he will always come, he'll never give up on his brother, although the laugh is then an indication of the strain their relationship comes under.

Whew.

That was longer than the drabble and review combined.

Catch The Wind finally pinned down a feeling I've been trying to write for ages - that kind of longing for the dream world, almost disconnected from the real.

I'll leave it there, but HUGE cookies for the reviews! That started the day well!

Ta,

Cal

Incredible!  Dean has been so worn down the last two seasons, broken and barely hanging on this last one.  I like how you use the whiskey to compare past obstacles in life to the new ones and show us his weariness.

How heartbreaking!  WIAWSNB is one oof my all time faves too!  Even though Dean knows he's better off in the real world, it would have been hard leaving a world where he could have had things the way he wanted them to be.

Reviewer: Shannondoah (Signed) · Date: 02/07/09 10:37 PM · On: One Step

Fabulous!  "Not any more" expresses the emotional and physical rift between the brothers.

Reviewer: Shannondoah (Signed) · Date: 02/07/09 10:35 PM · On: Hole In The World

Bizarre!  At first I thought it was pretty straight-forward but then you lost me.  Still a great piece!

Reviewer: Shannondoah (Signed) · Date: 02/07/09 10:33 PM · On: Twist the Knife

Wow!  I'm amazed that so much can be captured in such few words!

You used almsot every sense in describing this one short moment in Dean's life.  His hope and doubt in that heartbeat of time is excruciating!  the sorrow of not being the big brother to Sam that he was in the other reality tearing at him as much as the tenderness of having his mother to care for him must have comforted him.  Amazing piece!

Very good, loved it.

Author's Response: Thanks!

Another really good one, Cal :-) - "Unforgiven" is one of my favorite songs, and you & Ilka seem on the same page as me in thinking those lyrics do in fact so hauntingly relate to Dean this season - Excellent drabble!

Reviewer: darkhunter (Signed) · Date: 10/05/09 08:23 AM · On: Unforgiven (S4 spoilery)

Very good, in a dark way.

Author's Response:

Yeah, not a happy one this. surprise surprise...

Thanks!

Reviewer: bhoney (Signed) · Date: 09/05/09 07:36 PM · On: Untitled

Aww, this was heartbreaking. Especially this: "but he can cry at last

for the first time in his life". *sniffle* Poor Dean!

Nice job on the formatting, very impactful.
