Ok, here it goes. My first review. Please be patient, I have a lot to say. (I hope that is ok) After spending the last couple hours rereading the first few chapters of this story and catching up on the ones I missed, I just want to say that you are an amazing writer. This chapter in particular shows that. You start out with tension and drama, then throw in a little lighthearted comic relief, then go right back the the headspinning angst without skipping a beat and it all never loses focus of where it is actually going. After reading your other two stories in almost one sitting each it is clear that you really love to hurt poor Dean is some way, shape, or form but it's never without a purpose. It's not just random physical torment but it all seems to have a point and that is what makes your stories stand out amongst all the other 'whumpage' stories. I just want to thank you for your attention to detail also. Everything is so vividly depicted I sometimes feel I'm watching instead of reading. Ok, just wanted to say thanks for the excellant work you do and I hope you keep it up.
Author's Response: That has rendered me speechless. I honestly don't know what to say. Thank you just doesn't seem to be enough for those inspiring comments. I can only hope that you continue to enjoy what I write and I would also hope that you continue to drop a line every once in a while. I sometimes obsess about what I've written and am never sure what I post is worth the memory wasted on my computer for it so thank you again for justifying my addiction!!

I want to start by saying that that guy Brian, WHAT A DICK! I just to kick his ass! That being said, you had me rolling on the floor when they boys were talking about the 'jino-colonojist'. That was a riot but when Sam told Dean to stop being a pussy, that was absolutely hilarious! But then you go and get all serious again. I gotta say though, Dean sounds totally screwed. Great update and very much looking for the next one!
Author's Response: Somehow, I don't think anyone likes Brian very much, but that's ok, you're not supposed to like him. Glad to be able to give you a good laugh at that one. Dean is a crazy man for walking across a snowy parking lot barefoot! I got the shivers just imagining it. But I wouldn't mind seeing him in his leather jacket and no shirt. :) Eerie ending--the blood seeping into the carpet. Now I'm shivering for a different reason!

Oh dear! Looks like we are in for a whole lot more of Dean whumpage! Amazing story and another great chapter. I so loved Dean's thoughts on the doctor being an "innie" doctor and not an "outie" one... he he... Looking forward to more! Ha! Don't apologize for the gynecologist thing. That was freakin' hysterical!! I laughed so hard at Dean not being able to say vagina and also at "innie doctor" not an "outie doctor". Classic, classic Dean. Yay--Bobby's on the way! Love it when he comes on scene. And I like that we're (and Sam!) getting some clues as to what's going on. And, uh oh, the ball's in my court?? Geez, you are soooooooo much better at this--I don't know that I can live up to the challenge. And if I can't in "In the Darkest Corners", I might have to start a new story just to practice my Dean whumpage.

If you can write such a great chapter with your favorite house-guest around, the visit sure had an inspiring touch (we both do know other people, who can't even think straight in these circumstances, sic!) Very relieved Bobby is on his way, they're running out of time fast now. The key was a creepy little hint and the attempt to reach the car nerve-racking. Dean hearing the baby crying wasn't a good sign either, poor guys, a desperate situation. One last thing, hope you make sure Sam or Bobby will punch this little Brian freak for 'enjoying the show' so much!

I pondered bringing Bobby in other than via phone and decided I just had to. Glad you approve! You are very correct about Dean hearing that baby crying...that's not going to end well I think. Was just peeking at your replies to some other reviews and your mention of the key. I had noticed that about Dean acting all funny after he'd touched it--but didn't put any weight into it until reading this chapter. Guess I'm a little slow on the uptake. LOL I like the clue and I'm sure the mystery behind it is going to blow me away and be quite satisfying. Oh, and I forgot to leave stars with my other review. :-)
