Valentine sentiments make me a little uncomfortable sometimes - what is heartfelt for one person is gut churning for another. But your sweet, simple powerfully written story about Sam's understanding of the Love that has existed in his life and his sadness that his brother will never have a Jess ... well it was perfect. Sam is blessed - has been blessed and what a great thing to remember on Valentines Day. You wrote this beautifully, your style, tempo and timing- wonderful.

Really, REALLY wanna review this, but not sure how to write it. It was great (I might ramble on a bit now, be warned...) sweet, the idea that Sam sees the different kinds of love and understands how Dean needs to feel them but can't. And the gift, the valentines day present that would mean so much to Dean on so many levels, was beautiful. A way to say so much, saying nothing. If you hadn't guessed, ya did good!

this was so awesome, Lisa!! i'm so glad you decided to post it here!! love this part, it's so true!! Sam mourned for the validation that Dean had missed out on. It was natural to think that your family loved you because they had to. And then Sam had left. And then Dad had left. How loveable could you be if your own family left you? Didn't love you. When they had to. Because they were family. lol...i finally figured out how to cut and paste on here, so you are my very first cut and paste!! Amazons always...bambers;)
