I had never NEVER read fanfics before, NEVER, I was reluctant to do it, and today I thought I give it a try, and read one of your stories, now I've just finished #3 (Bricks in the wall, Fractured and Broken Images) ..., needless to say I am a big fan of the show, and you've capture it's escence: the brothers and their bond.

I really like your style, you can describe a scene with just a few lines, the stories develop quick and they just keep the reader hooked. I am looking forward to read more of your stuff.

Author's Response:

Wow...what awesome feedback.

Welcome, both to the site, and to the wonderful and sometimes crazy world of fanfiction. I had never known it existed either, until a few years ago when I stumbled across another site while looking for pics of the show that I could make into a screensaver. A few months later I was trying my hand at it myself.

It's been an interesting four years, to say the least.

Thank you so much for your feedback and your kind words. I'm thrilled that you chose one of my stories to start with, and even more thrilled that you like my work so much. You have truly blessed me.

I hope that you have many enjoyable hours on this site.

awww...I've read broken images.. I really like it. quite the mystery and twist. probably one of the first ones.  I liked this one too!  nice prequel.  explains alot!!

Author's Response:

Thanks, Leslie.

There wouldn't have been a prequel, actually, if one of the readers hadn't asked me for it. I hadn't planned on it. But still, hopefully it wasn't giving too much away to read it out of sequence. Broken Images was, after all, written and posted first.

So glad you liked this.

I sincerly loved and keep loving it so thanks.

Rating:)400++++

Author's Response:

Thank you for that. It was hard to write, as it was basically the boys saying goodbye. So glad you loved it.

Lol! Thanks for that. So glad you enjoyed it.

Awesome, what next? Update quickly. Sam can't die like that, he can't be mad....please....update.

Author's Response:

Hi - sorry, but this story is completed. It is, however, a prequel to Broken Images, which takes up the tale where this leaves off. Hope you enjoy it, and thank you so much for the review.

hey Jules.

It's nice to have the understanding of how sam ended up so broken and I can imagine how his grief would be so intence. Dean's monologue as Sam goes under is heartbreaking but elegantly restrained and understated. You are a wordsmith. Bev xx

Author's Response:

Thank you, Bev,

After reading your Salvation, I think that the title "wordsmith" should really go to you, but I am honoured that you think I am one. Thank you so much for hunting down my old work....Jules

Very glad that by accident I read Broken Images before reading this - it would have ruin Broken Images to know who was in alley from the beginning.

Very good prequel. I wonder what happened to Ruby, though if the amulet was able to repel evil,I expect it repelled her too.

You are an awesome writer.

Author's Response: Thanks, Midge. I've actually put a little author's note on Broken Images now, just to say to read that one first. B-I was written first, as you probably know, so it was a little hard to keep it suitably vague at the end as to who was in the alley when I was asked to write the prequel. But I'm glad you liked this.....Jules

I read Broken Images first and it was great. Then I found this one. Damn, you had me bawling my eyes out. The part where Dean leaves Sam....

Very well done.

Author's Response:

Thank you for that. I was astounded by the response to Broken Images. It's actually in the voting for the latest People's Choice awards on the Sensue site. This one wouldn't have gotten off the ground if GotTheShining hadn't asked me to consider a prequel.

She scared me at first, as I really had trouble with how to get Dean out of the deal, which is why I kept it vague in Broken Images. Glad you enjoyed it, even though you did bawl your eyes out. *hands over tissues*....Jules

Oh man, and I completely forgot, thanks for writing Ruby in a positive light.  I can't tell if I like Bela or not (her character may have come on a bit strong) but I really like Ruby.

Haha read a story with her in it that absolutely tore her to pieces...so awesome work!

Okay...I'ma gonna leave you alone now...

Author's Response: Yes, I know what you mean. I think there's more to Ruby than meets the eye - not sure yet if she is really good or not. As for Bela - she's a loose cannon - and I think she can only mean trouble for the boys. I mean, she shot Sammy, and then turned both of them over to Gordon - how good can she be? ....Jules

So I sit here, half dazed out of my mind (it was a long ass week!) and about to head to bed when suddenly I see that you've posted this jewel up here.

The last few paragraphs started to blur, but I can't tell if that was from pure exhaustion or tears...holy crap girl!  That was amazing!

I love how you bound Dean to God, its an awesome theory.  Poor Sammy, bein' drugged like that.

This was awesome Jules!  Perfect prequal to an awesome story by a perfect madwoman such as yourself.  :)

Loved it!
Kris

Author's Response: LOL - perfect madwoman, eh? Why thank you, my SN sis. I'm honoured. Seriously, thank you hon. Glad you enjoyed it....Jules

Reviewer: SupernaturalGeek (Signed) · Date: 14/02/08 01:21 PM · On: Chapter 1

Really nicely done, hon. The goodbye scene was heartbreaking and I don't actually think I'll be able to watch if they really do have that in the show *sniff* I like that you had Ruby save Dean in the end - I personally think she's ok - but given the way it ends I really am glad that I already read the sequel and know it turns out ok! :) I too hope Kripke reads this and comes up with a way to save our boy that doesn't involve Sam turning to the wrong side... *crosses everything*

Author's Response: Thank you so much for that. And I'm with you in crossing everything. We need tee shirts - "Save Dean, and Don't Turn Sam Evil". Lead me to the printers'....Jules

Hey Jules, this was fantastic. This leads so perfectly into Broken Images, I can't give you enough praise. Just incredible.
Danni

Author's Response: Thank you, Danni. And thanks for the review. I had a struggle with the actual deal, and my beta made me add more detail to the original draft. I'm glad she did....Jules

So totally cool!!!  You did a great job leading up to Broken Images!!  And reading the prequel AFTER... it's like all the pieces fell together!!  Loved it!

Author's Response: Thanks for that. I tried to make the ending a little vague, but all of you who have read Broken Images already know who the poor soul is in the alley. Thanks for reading, and I'm glad you loved it...Jules

I enjoyed it very much! And knowing how the story ends i enjoyed it even more!!! LOL

Author's Response: Thank you for that. And thank you to GotTheShining for prompting me. I would never have thought of a prequel without her....Jules

You said tissue alert, you didn't say how many boxes...   This is beautifully sad, can feel my heart cracking along with theirs.  Bravo - Angela

Author's Response: Um.... whoops...sorry about that. *hands over another box of tissues - special eucalyptus ones so the nose doesn't get all chafed*. Thank you, Angela. Glad I did it justice....Jules

this was a great story, it was so sad when Dean was saying his final goodbye's to Sam. Hope everything works out for them in the end.

Author's Response: Thank you for that - as for everything working out, well it does eventually, but it's a rough road between here and there. Thanks for reading...Jules

Woo Hoo *doin the happy dance* you wrote it!

Jules, you rock! Thanks for taking on the prequel.  It was everything I hoped it would be:)  knew you would find a way to break the contract--The hard part would be finding a plausible way for Sam to have escaped Bobby.

...and damnit I used all my tissues and now my laptop is all slimy.

I loved the way Dean kept hearing the hounds as time drew closer and Sam kept hearing the clock tick. Bobby telling Dean "He just broke"...Wow!

Author's Response: I did! Thanks to you for getting me to think about the prequel. Although you did scare me with the whole breaking the deal thing. Ooh, slimy laptop - suppose I should have put a tissue box alert on here like my auntie said - whoops... Seriously, thank you for the prompt, and I'm glad you weren't disappointed.....Jules

AWESOME AWESOME work!!!!!!!!!!

OMG.. I just cried. it was so powerful, poginant, gut wrentching.

Sam..oh Sam..totally destroyed. It broke my heart just reading the pain he was going thru.

I'll be reading Broken Images tonite - just so the tears will stop.

OUTSTANDING job!!!!!

BRAVO!!!!!

Author's Response: Thank you so very much. Wow - what can I say after that review. I'm really glad it grabbed you like that - sorry I made you cry, but I suppose that if you did, then I did my job as a storyteller. Thanks again...Jules

Oh Jules, you had me sitting here swallowing hard... yep, tissue warning definately useful here. Dean's goodbye to Sammy was simply heartwrenching. I loved your version of a way out of the deal for him. Clever move to bring Ruby back to help after all. This was a great oneshot and a perfect prequel to "Broken Images". Thanks for sharing this with us!

Author's Response: My aunt told me I goofed on the tissue warning - she said it should have been a tissue box warning...oops... Thank you for that - and thanks so much for the wonderful review, here and for Broken Images...Jules

Awesome as always Jules! I LOVE your solution to the problem ~ given the self-less way that Dean has lived his life (minor indiscrestions notwithstanding), I'm not entirely convinced he needs the amulet to bind him to God, though - I think he is already there. This was something that bothered me in MM - if Ruby could be in Hell for that long (plague would be 1600s) and not turn, why would Dean (who has spent his life self-lessly sacrificing for others) be doomed to turn immediately - or at all. Which also makes me hope for some kind of divine intervention at some point.... Ramble much? Sorry bout that. Love how you have tied this to Broken Images. As always, just a stunning portrayal of the boys - and well - who doesn't love Bobby??? Thanks for this!

Author's Response: Ramble away, Lisa. I'm banking on some divine intervention too, actually. And I do wonder, given the fact that the amulet has been given some attention and back story, whether it will play a part. We haven't seen MM in Australia yet - that's Monday night, but I have peeked at the clips on sn.tv. Dean doesn't belong in hell - wonder if that's why they want his soul so badly...Jules

BEAUTIFUL...........yeah u were right, I almost cried and I really Hope Mr. Kripke reads this. I really want dean to be saved from that deal and that Sam doesnt turn evil!!!! Keep it up, A real great Job...

Author's Response: Wow - thank you so much. I'm with you - save Dean, save Sam - we should get tee shirts made - LOL. Glad you enjoyed it...Jules

I liked it very very much Jules, loved that you explained away the deal great beginning to Broken Images. - Kel

Author's Response: Thank you so much Kel. Glad it worked out - the actual deal gave me a few bad moments...Jules

okay, i need to take your tissues warning more seriously i think... Great job Jules, God, Dean's goodbies... I think i'm gonna re-read Images later, because i really need the happy end. Thanks for this terrific one my friend.

Author's Response: Yes, you do. I try to do all the warnings now, after the clowns... oops... You know, you will probably laugh, but when I was writing those lines of Dean's goodbye, I was crying myself! Thank you, mate....Jules
