This is fantastic! I've only just seen this episode and came away with all sorts of thoughts running through my brain, and spent the next hour trying to figure out how I felt about Dean's change of heart. It makes him all the more vulnerable and at the same time he's finally finding the strength to be himself...

And what you've written has encapsulated all of that and more. This is a beautiful and emotional piece of writing and I LOVE Dean casting off the jacket...

...but hopefully only for a little while cos he wouldn't be the Dean we all know and love without it for good...lol

Author's Response: I know exactly what you mean. That show killed me in a lot of ways. I'm glad you like this, it was one of those times I just sat down and started to write and let it just go.

*wipes traces of tears from face*

Dean's words to himself in that episode were like daggers to my heart -- they were so very like words I had wanted to say many times over but never had the strength to do so...especially to myself.

This tag felt like you crawled inside my head and sat comfortably there while writing. I thank the powers the be on a daily basis that we had occasion to meet. Kindred spirits have a way of connecting.

How do you do this, though -- put so much meaning behind so few words? I saw layers throughout this little tag and was in awe. I could never do that.

The last line literally had me going "oh!" out loud. No one looked because I was alone, but still. Fantastic way of bringing it home for him.

Just, um, don't take away the car or classic rock. *wink*

Thanks for writing. Cathartic, isn't it?

Author's Response: Yeah, at least i can get it out in my fantasies. You didn't have to review this but i'm always flattered you do.
