I'm glad you mentioned this story in one of my reviews for Addicted. This is fabulous! How did I miss these stories. I see I'll have plenty to read to get caught up in all the stories that I missed. Poor Dean! He is really in a bad way here. When he was shot with the bow in the chest, it was quite jarring! I didn't see that coming. And poor Sam, frantically searching for his hurt brother. Looking forward to reading this story and more.

Mal,

excellent story i should have read this first before i read "The Green and The Blue"

then i would have know how Dean injured his leg and who David was.

Ellen does need a love interest in her life i liked that you hooked her up with David.

i also liked how you had Ellen still being a mother figure to Dean and Sam.   when i watch the series that is what i always felt when Ellen was around.

the hospital escape was a good job as well getting him the heck out of there had to be done.

again great story

OMG!  What a chapter!  Poor Dean, he's hurting so badly.  I love the barely controlled panic and sense of urgency as Sam struggles to save Dean.  J.

I started reading The Green and The Blue, got hooked, then realised I shoulda read this one first.  I'm so pleased I've found it, awesome first chapter, I just love me a bit of hurt Dean!!  Now I know why he was limping!!....lol

Now I'm in for a treat with 22 chapters to enjoy.  Thanks. Jane

I've just read this whole story at once!

I really loved all of it, your a very talented writer and have the brothers down perfectly. Your plot was wonderful and I can't get enough of sick and injured Dean! You inspired me to register here so I could send you this review!

Looking forward to more from you.

God bless.

xx

Author's Response: Wow!  Thanks--I'm honoured!  Hope you enjoy this next story--mal

Really enjoyed your story. You really put my poor boy through the wringer! No complaints though. I see you've set the stage for another story. I can hardly wait. Post soon.

 Nilah.

Author's Response: Thanks!  Yeah--the Dean in my tales does tend to get more than his fair share of whumpage.  But he always prevails  lol

Reviewer: bulletbabe (Signed) · Date: 20/03/08 06:26 AM · On: Chapter 22

Great chapter and I especially liked the description of the cottage...I am a sucker for a really good description...lol

And I also love the way you are fleshing out all the other characters in this story, especially Bobby...I am a huge Bobby Singer fan...lol

Thanks for the read and keep it coming!

Author's Response:

Yeah--I like the Bobby character too--an excellent surrogate dad for them.

And again--thanks for the feedback!  (!!!!!)  The writing is really enjoyable,  but it is a creative process that leaves you open and nervous,  wondering how it's being received.

The next installment is The Green and the Blue--sometime next week.  I think I'll condense it by posting around 4000 words per chapter--because there are a few more stories that kept adding to this thread,  and I'd like to keep it moving.

You have a real ability to write those quieter 'in between the action' bits of a story and make them real, and you've done that here, pushing the characterisation forward and setting up for the next plot twist.

I'm really enjoying this, keep it coming!

Author's Response:

Thanks for that.  It's a tricky thing--I always worry that people abandon the story at those parts because it's not non-stop action,  but I try to write a plausible series of events and naturally there will be some down time mixed with the trauma.

And I really appreciate the feedback--thanks!

Mal, thank you so much for sharing this wonderful story with us! it was a joy to read all the way. You did a great job and served the boys well. I also loved David and your version of Ellen, Bobby and Ash. I'm sad to see this one end but I'm looking forward to more of your stories. I'm ready for the sequel to this one!

Author's Response:

Thank you for reading and taking the time to comment.  I enjoyed writing that first one especially.  The next part of the story continues with The Green and the Blue--which I'll start adding as soon as this busy weekend is over--

This was just another fabulous chapter! I'm disappointed that it is over though! On the bright side, I think we are set up for at least one or two more stories, right???? I want my trip to Disney World!!! and the Keys - I want to see Dean with cats! and Emily - scary - and she said there was trouble a foot, right? I'll have an eye out for your next story! Thanks so much for this one!!!

Author's Response:

Thanks for the boost!  The next one will probably be posted starting next week--called The Green and the Blue.   Yeah--(sigh)  Florida would be good now......

I just wanted to tell you how much I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I checked frequently for updates and than would do a mini dance of joy for each new chapter.

This was an amazing ride from start to finish. Plenty of twists and turns to keep me on the edge.

Brilliant job writing the boys and exploring their relationship and their insecurities. And I loved David.

Beautiful wonderful hurt, vulnerable Dean and protective Sammy. My need has been sated and my heart is happy.

Write more soon!

Author's Response:

Thanks so much!  I am always glad to hear that people are looking forward to an update--it's too easy to get discouraged and start thinking that it has gotten boring for readers.  Next part of the story is The green and the Blue--set in the Florida keys--next week.

I´m glad Ellen and David are O.K. Is nice for the kids to have a break after all they went through.

Another very satisfying chapter. It's really nice to be able to just sit back and enjoy the boys recovery. I'm so glad that you aren't rushing to just "end" this! I loved the bit where David and Dean were struggling to sleep and Sam just hit the pillow and was gone... lol! Loved Ash's going on about crabby!Ellen.... Looking forward as always to the next chappie. You are going to write about the Florida trip, right? Will it be a separate story? Can't wait to meet Bobby's cousins....

Author's Response: yep--separate story--it will come on the heels of this one--thanks for the interest!

I liked this chapter. This was another good one.  Didn't Dean mention something about Tampa in Croatoan?  I figured that meant Tampa, Florida.  I look forward to reading more.

Reviewer: supernatfem76 (Signed) · Date: 12/03/08 07:08 PM · On: Chapter 19

I liked this chapter.  I liked that Ellen admitted that she had feelings for David.

Reviewer: bulletbabe (Signed) · Date: 12/03/08 04:11 PM · On: Chapter 20

Have to say the idea of the boys riding around in the Mystery Machine just made me howl with laughter...great image!

And I'm real pleased David's decided on Ellen rather than hunting, that's the right choice.

Reviewer: Soennelchen (Signed) · Date: 11/03/08 03:40 AM · On: Chapter 19

Still enjoying this story alot! Poor Ellen and David - I feel for both of them. I loved David's inner battle and Dean offering advice. Dean's hideout under the bed was really "professional" - lol. Great job, looking forward to more.

Another wel written chapter - that image of Dean under the bed with the IV pole strewn about is pretty funny - except to Dean I guess.  Like the interaction between Ellen and David as well.  Looking forward to more - Angela

Reviewer: bulletbabe (Signed) · Date: 10/03/08 11:05 AM · On: Chapter 19

Wow, I really feel for Ellen here and I do wish David ends up making the right choice...nice touch to have the words of wisdom come from Dean...he sure would know about revenge hunting.

Great update, keep up the great work!

Not " Uh Oh" !!!

Reviewer: lam (Signed) · Date: 06/03/08 10:02 PM · On: Chapter 18

Another great chapter - although a very evil cliffie!!!! Love the idea of them going to the keys - love it there - especially Key West - Dean would love that as much as Daytona, I'm sure! Poor Dean - a minivan! I'm hoping we get to meet Sally and Emily - sixties, eh? thanks for that....

Can't wait to see who is in the driveway....

Reviewer: bulletbabe (Signed) · Date: 05/03/08 01:36 PM · On: Chapter 17

Oh, I really like David...have a horrible feeling about him going on a hunt though...and just when Ellen has a little bit of joy in her love life...

And now Bobby's on his way, can't wait for him to arrive, he always brightens my day, as do your stories, thanks for the read, and roll on next update!

Reviewer: Soennelchen (Signed) · Date: 05/03/08 09:04 AM · On: Chapter 17

Wonderful chapter, absolutely sweet. So many lines in there I could quote. Loved Ellen smiling for "45 miles", Ash dishing out the fake story to the cops, David fantasizing about Ellen and Sam teasing him about it... Awww, and Bobby is on the way, too. Looking forward to where you will take us next :)
