aw, love this one. can't believe i haven't reviewed it before now - sorry! the way you change the entire feel of the piece with just one sentence is really great - The car fell into a heavy silence, the only saving grace, the heavy thrum of the engine as it ate up the road…until Dean muttered under his breath, "…made you eat though…" then the equally sudden shift in mood again at the end - really evokes the way dynamics can shift between family, and these two in particular! And i love that 'dark glow in his eyes' - anger, sadness, guilt, love... could be so many things! and so easy to picture. Ta hun! cal

I think I've read this once before, but I can't remember...anyway, it was a great read. I love the peek into the boys' childhood, and the way that Sam kept trying to repair the damage from his slip-up in the car. And he's right - Dean really did raise him. And an awesome job he did on it, too....Jules

feeling a little low today, so i came back for an old favorite. more i read it and think about the show, the more i realize why i love it. growing up..i was an only child, but my best friend, my partner in crime, was the oldest of three and she pretty much raised those two with many of the same problems dean had, if for different reasons. anyhow...thanks. i needed this.

Particularly loved the game 'Stealth-Wording.' This was a simple story but unique & creative. It was a very sweet story that further delved into the brothers' history & explained them and their relationship more.
Author's Response: Thanks for the review Karen, and I'm glad you enjoyed and yeah, 'stealth-wording' was kinda popular...lol X Louy

Louy, this is great, very well written. All those games were really clever. "… ‘So dad, ASS-uming this is a poltergeist…’" ASS-uming? The funniest thing I have read for a while! And then there's also Wendigo shit, lol. "Sam’s smile was a cocktail of happiness and relief." I liked this line a lot. I loved the whole thing, funny but emotional, just like the real show is. The ending is perfect, not too dramatic, just simple and heart-warming.
Author's Response: Thank you so much Sanna, it's a great compliment that so many people have reviewed this story and every single one is appreciated. And I'm so happy it gave you a smile...thanks very much for the lovely review. X Louy

I liked the ending, it wasn't overly chick flick, it was just right. that part about the wendigo shit made me laugh. I like how your stories have humor as well as emotional things too. another good read.
Author's Response: Thanks very much Eternity, I'm not really someone who likes chick flick (I'm so with Dean on that one) so I'm very glad this worked for you. Thanks for the review. X Louy

“Stealth-Wording”? “MysteryMorsel’”? ‘”StainBrain”? No way! These games have names? And different versions?? What a story! It is so original in concept and exceptionally well written. I love how you gave our boys ‘normal’ family memories. You brilliantly emphasized Dean’s resourcefulness in using these fun games to keep Sam entertained, safe and nurtured. Your kick that Sam only just realised it was an amazing read. DICK-thiasaur!? The idea of hunter!john being snowed so well and easily by his trickster sons is a classic! ASS-ome!? priceless!! Loved how Dean was proud of that one! You had my breath catch with Dean’s raw honesty, almost begging for Sam to not go there. "Don’t do that, man. You don’t have to do that." Not avoiding the chick-flick thing, no much deeper. I felt Dean not wanting to have to face their childhood memories as lacking, for Sam not to talk about his childhood with regret and negativity after he’d tried so hard. To have Sam’s realization triggered by subtle changes in Dean right up to the ‘angry music’ was spectacular. Your images of the boys emotions and observations being communicated via their eyes and body language was stunning, your descriptions left us in no doubt of what they saw and read in each other. This was the paragraph of the century- “And at last an opportunity to make it right. This was all the chance he needed and he was going to make good use of it. He’d found the smallest groove in that wall that was Deans head and he knew he could worm his way in there. Dean may be the master of building walls but it was Sam who was the master of squeezing between those stones” A.W.E.S.O.M.E!! You captured Sam’s understanding of his big brother’s complexity and his determination to follow through with precision. Absolutely outstanding writing! Your use of analogies is second to none, this choice so perfect for our Winchesters. Loved your ending to bits, such a gentle understanding, your restored the equilibrium of their brotherhood and smoothed the turmoil each was feeling for different reasons. Sam acknowledging the significance of Dean’s effort as a big brother going beyond the call and ultimately thanking him was downright beautiful and I wish Kripke and Co could read this (writers strike? Look here Eric!) And that banner is incredible!
Author's Response: Ahhh, Petra. I read this just after you wrote it and had to go away and catch my breath, couldn't answer your review until I stopped 'being all emotional like a chick'...lol. Thank you so much for this...you have no idea how wonderful it is to read a review that proves someone has been touched by a story but when you analyze something in this much depth it gives validity to what we've done by writing in it the first place - so thank you for that. Please don't ever feel you should 'condense' these reviews, I think there may be a riot if you ever did...lol Thanks again Petra, this review rocked my world...and thanks for the great compliment on the banner. X Louy

Oh yeah this one really rocks. Don't know why they don't do this in the t.v. program. They never have the boys talking about things they remember growing up, you know light hearted things, like in this story. This was a great fun story, with a serious side. Brilliant.
Author's Response: Thats very kind of you bunnykins, glad you liked it, and thank you for the review. X Louy
