What do I think? Absolutely great. I think you captured the emotions beautifully.
I've read so many accounts of that fateful day when Sam left and the great thing is, they are all so very different...

awww omgg i loved it...that's an amazing first fic. And you know what, if they showed what happened the night Sam left, i bet you it be something very very close to that...well at least i'd hope it be something close to that, cuz what you wrote totally had winchester written alll over it. And John's part where he had regret but then shut it off in a second...totally him! great job with this, can't wait for your next pieces!!!

How beautiful was that! Wonderful little fic!
I just loved all that communication through the eyes. Perfectly written! *soft sigh*
Dean fingering his amulet said everything and I felt pretty choked up now that how he has come to have the amulet has been revealed in that stunning Christmas episode. Lovely touch!
And the die hard John fan in me loves the glimpse of John you gave us, the fierce father under the fierce hunter. Outstanding!

i know . . . the eyes get me every time in the show ;)
and the amulet giving tugged on my heart, so now i pay more attention to it!
i was going to just end it with Dean standing there . . . but then I wanted to put in John's reaction -- i'm lgad you liked that I did that.
