Excellent job, Petra. John's heartbreak and fear for Sam is so devastating to witness. it really tears at my heart that he is forced to watch as his son's come up against this evil, and he can do nothing to stop it from happening!! I really love how you are showing this as if it were a movie, and all the demons are cheering Sam's demise along!! thanks so much for sharing!! bambers;)

wow, cookie, this is so awesome. john's emotions are just so raw and powerful. my heart was just literally breaking for him having to watch everything that was going on and having the demons chanting in the background. what an awesome first story and well deserving of a featured stop. look forward to more stories from you. bambers;)

Honestly, I had been wondering were you had gone to... now it all becomes clear. What is also crystal is what an articulate, talented and creative author you are! This was amazing, you provide us with an utterly convincing version of John's hell. What else would be fitting for the fallen hunter but to witness the consequences not only of his deal but the path in life he chose for his boys... and not be able to do a damn thing about it. Liked the image and references to watching the scenes like a movie - the twisted hellish version of his life flashing before him? The way his unending torment feeds the evil masses around him is a powerful and disturbing image and I love the way you vary the descriptions of each new torment. Your description of the boys low moments through their fathers eyes is brilliant work - so emotive, so full of despair and a sense of guilt and shame at his contribution to the horrors in their lives. There were just to many well turned phrases for me to list them all. But this broke my heart: "The laughing of the demons blended with the sobbing of one son and the crooning of the other. John wasn’t sure if he could hear his own sobs or his baby’s, before the demons chanting overtook it all." The demon re-hash of events was the perfect touch - how the YED reinterpreted the events of WIAWSNB, and twisted his deceptive argument round John's broken heart. “Suicide, John! The coward’s way out. And this is the end he sees fit in his perfect world. Now he’s watching out for Sam, improving his life!” I can not wait to see what "the best" is - though I fear I know. Your format, tone and timing was right on the money, fitting John's anguished experience perfectly - you leave us in no doubt that for John Winchester this was beyond hell with no glimmer of relief. Congratulations on your very well deserved feature. It has been an absolute pleasure to write this review, not only because I really did enjoy your inventive first chapter but because as a reviewer you have been such a source of support to other authors (myself amongst them) and taken such care and thought in your praise of them, that ANY opportunity to return that is one to be ceased!! Looking out for chapter two - goes without saying;-) !!!!

WOW!!!!!!!! I was in hell right beside John, what a genius piece of writing. I can't believe this is your first attempt. Such detail that everytime the fire flared up at John I found myself getting hot!!! It has a poetic flow to it that just wraps you in its words. I could see and feel everything that Papa Winchester was going through, the poor man. Beautiful, scary dark hell;) well done DRU ROCK ON!!!

BRAVO!!! Petra, the correlation to being in a theatre with the special presentation absolutely brilliant. From opening scene to end credits, I absolutely loved it. You more than exceeded my expectations. John’s devastation at being forced to watch those he loves being destroyed, living the worst parts of their lives, the “audience” reactions as the scene played out, his front row seat, so amazing. “For the umpteenth time in eternity, John collapsed inside himself, crying his pain, frustration and torment in silent tears. His mind tried to shut off, to disappear, to hit the mute button since the off button was non existent. But for the umpteenth time in eternity, the demonic plague hit the replay button and Hell became the box office hit with John the sole audience.” My heart broke with John’s watching Dean, knowing family was Dean’s life. “John wrapped his arms around himself in an unconscious gesture of supporting Dean. He knew that Sam’s indifference, indeed his cold disregard, would be tearing Dean apart, that this was the ultimate torture for his boy.” Although rarely seen, we know John loved his sons, and believed he was doing the right thing by them, doing the best he could. Trying to keep them safe and protect them, even dying for them. Hell would indeed play upon these emotions, twisting, taunting, trying to destroy the man. I can’t wait for the rest of the story. Welcome aboard to the ranks dear. Congrats on the feature selection as well. Crystal

What a terrific first start! You've done a wonderful job of tormenting John - the imagery really comes through, especially by robbing his perception of season 2 events of any of the upside. Certainly our boys have a , shall we say, less than charmed existence, but there is certainly a strength of bond and underlying love between them (wouldn't Dean just gag at that description). Edit that out, and a view to their lives is devastating. Great job!

Ahhh, Petra, this was wonderful! Sadly, I'm not as good at doing reviews as you are. You portray, and describe, the torment of Hell quite well, scarily well.
