you took a really difficult subject to write for this story, and dealt with it superbly. the twin realisations in the end, Sam discovering he can deal with the phobia, as long as he isn't alone, Dean realising Sam still needs him (and "dang this feels mushy and aw crap I kinda like it." Love it!) really kept it realistic and in character.
And off to see if that Seemingly Impossibl update is up yet!

I liked both of the last chapters. I liked how you used episodes from season 1 and 2 to show how Sam had gotten over his fear of water. Great job!

Sammy's struggle to overcome his fear of the water-that horror knowing you cannot get any air-the panic and how it freezes you to immobility-OUTSTANDING writing!!!!!!
Since I almost drown myself once, this brought that all back- you nailed that horror spot on!!!!!
Your style and vivid verbage are so reader friendly and so satisfying-you are a true master of words.

Oh my what a treat, two chapters to read at once. I honestly had forgotten this story wasn't complete, but I just love that you addressed the fact that Dean didn't know Sam had got past his terror with a little help from Jess. Nicely done.

Yay Sam! I'm so glad that his love for Jess and Dean gave him the courage to conquer his fear. I like how after he swims that first night he's still uncomfortable with water and has no desire to swim again but he knows he can do it.

"Sam always deserved to have a choice." That statement more than any other shows the depth of Dean's love and compassion for his little brother.

This is very very good, even if I initially had real trouble believing Sam could remain afraid of water for so many years.
But I loved that the fact that Dean's name was the first name he tried to say when recovering from his last drowning. And I loved that it's Dean's memory that talked him into the water at the end.
Not sure that the story needs another chapter but Dean's reaction to Sam willingly being round the lake in 'Dead in the Water' could be interesting. Looking forward to your next chapter.
PS. Do you have any plans to update 'Seemingly Impossible' anytime soon?

I absoloutly LOVE this story!!
Your writing style is awesome . . .and the ideas . . . everything. You really draw us into Dean's fear of losing Sam and Sam's fear of the water and his hatiing his weakness. It was just so beautiful. And i love that even though they're not speaking to each other, it's Dean who helps him over his fear of the water.
Once again, awesome writing style!

I loved Dean's interrogation of Sam to find out what was wrong and his immediate knowledge of how to fix things for him. I guess that's what is so hard for Dean to deal with, as he cannot fix Sam's fear of the water. Well, at least he beat ten bells out of Bryce.

What an awesome start, absolutely terrifying. The panic and fear radiating from Dean and the self sacrifice from Sam laid their whole relationship bare. That desperate resuscitation scene had me holding my breath, Dean's sobbing - heartbreaking!! Jane
