I still remember this story as being the first I'd ever read on this site- back before I started writing reviews :) Just wanted to say now that I thought it was great back then, and- well- I still do!
Author's Response: Wow, thanks. Glad you enjoyed and am very happy you started reviewing - you're good at it! Kirsty x

Well, baby. Kirst you are amazing. Awesome idea and artistically put together. Geez, astouned and very proud to know you... A verbally incontinent sub-conscious. What a hilarious and ingenious idea!! ...Mr. Act-First-Think-Later-If-At-All... Gawd, if Sammy really could read minds, he'd never have said that. AWESOME! And by the way, wildebeest DO migrate as far as I know.... Hugs & Snogs Ilka
Author's Response: Hi Ilka, when you said you were gonna be doing more reading I didn't realise you meant straight away! Thank you so much for such a lovely, warm review. And I'm very happy to know you too! Big snogs Kirst xxx

Oh my! How wonderful this was to read. I particularly loved the way you captured the random train of thought of a very injured Dean. You hate to admit it but every tiny movement sends bolts of pain from your ribs to your ruined shoulder and then up through your head which feels like a herd of migrating wildebeest are charging through, wearing clogs and banging drums. And, wait, do wildebeest migrate? And why would you even care? Damn Sammy and his obsession with the Discovery Channel. You don’t want to watch lemurs doing it - what’s wrong with proper porn? No wonder the boy never gets laid … For some insane reason, I've always found the word 'wildebeest' to be uproarious, and to find somebody use it in a fiction piece just tickled me pink. I laughed so hard my sides hurt! --c
Author's Response: Well as much as I hate to cause people pain I'm glad you enjoyed it. What is it about wildebeest? They are worth their weight in comedic value! Thanks for reviewing. Kirsty xx

Feel guilty that I haven't posted a review so sat down to read and review and got incredibly lucky - this story is fantastic. I loved every minute. Its totally what Supernatural means to me - the close relationship between two different brothers and you write it with such depth and feeling so thank you very much!
Author's Response: No, thank you very much for such a lovely review. I am glad you enjoyed it and appreciate you telling me! Kirsty xx

The tap-dancing gazelle is a wonderful analogy! I love the way Dean stammers through opening up to Sam. Perfect Dean Winchester! What a wonderful piece! I love everything about it. How did you get into Dean's head?
Author's Response: Thank you so much for 2 such nice reviews. As for getting in Dean's head - when you spend as much time obsessively thinking about him as I do, it's easy! Thanks again! Kirsty xxx

Love the POV you've written this in! It's a refreshing change! Dean's stream of conscious thinking is great!

Hi fellow english person! This was amazing, really well written, love the way you explain things... love Deans POV ... I dont know if you will take this is a compliment or not but I can imagine this scene in the show itslef - i can imagine Sam and Dean having this conversation. Beautiful... Dix Aylesbury, Bucks
Author's Response: Thank you so much - that is definitely a compliment! I could hear their voices in my head, but wasn't sure it was wise to admit it ... Hope it's drier in Bucks than it is in Cambs (hey, 2 english people together, we have to mention the weather, right?) Thanks again for such a fab review! Kirsty xxx

Aw Birdy. I read this chapter a few days ago and have been trying to squeeze in a few minutes to review ever since! I loved this little piece .... so many insightful and heart-wrenching moments between the brothers - Sam's explanation of his new attitude rang true for me, Dean believing that Sam was stronger because he coped without him before (oh Dean), Sam realising that he's been letting Dean carry the can for the emotional side of their work, Sam saying that Dean is the number one most important person in the world to him (yay!)..... and, on top of all this...gazelles! I enjoyed it very much, thank you again.
Author's Response: Thank you so much for such a detailed review! I just combined my love of brotherly interaction and African wildlife and this is what came out ... Kirsty xxx

You guess that 25 years of being your little brother has given him plenty of time to practice. Now he can combine up to 7 different but equally disapproving expressions in just one look. Impressive. I have no idea about the wildebeests...but this was delightful. Laura
Author's Response: 'delightful' is such a lovely word. I'm gonna try and use it more often. Thank you so much for the review! Kirsty xx

Lolll, I love the fact that it's from Dean's point of view, and what a funny view! The pillow and mashmallows factory could be an amazing solution also, lolll.
Author's Response: Thank you for your review - I know people like to see all the angst in Dean (which has made for some fab stories) but I prefer to have a little fun! Kirsty x

LOL i think the wildebeest have deserved their own spin off series.... :) It's great...i think it's great, anyway.. And as you start to drift, you think, if life were fair, Mom wouldn’t have been killed, Dad would be happily fixing cars for a living and Sam would be at Law School, engaged to Jessica and with his whole, untainted future ahead of him. No responsibilities towards big bro beyond buying you a couple of beers on a Saturday night. You’d do anything to be able to give Sam that. But life isn’t fair, so you can’t. But you can give him hope, so you do. And in the absence of fair, hope will have to be enough.
I love this last lines...the boys i think need the hope so much more, esp for season 3... :)
Author's Response: I think we all need a little hope to get us through season 3. And, due to popular demand (well 3 people!) the wildebeest spin off is definitely on the cards! Thanks for reviewing. Kirsty xxx

Is it sad that I can tell off the top of my head that wildebeest (also called 'gnu') yearly partake in 1 of the largest migration of any land animal?
LOVE the story; SO Dean!
S.
Author's Response: That's not sad - it is usefull information! Thank gnu for the review ;) Kirsty xx

Very nice ending. I particularly love the last line.
Author's Response: Thank you, I was a bit worried it might come off as a bit cheesey, but those boys need some hope! Kirsty xx
