Oh my GOD! I'm not sure I've ever read anything so bittersweet as that hearts-beating-the-same scene. That could be in a movie, it's such a tear-jerker. Beautiful!

I just wanted to say that this is one of my favorite stories. And it is written so well, with the characters remembering different parts of the same flashbacks, and the flashbacks being so touching. Half of the time I was laughing and the other half about ready to cry. I think you've got all of the characters down pat. I reread this often.

Dean shook his head and smiled softly at what his soul had done. One tainted soul for one heat-seeking-pain-in-the-ass-little brother. It was a steal. And he’d do it again in a second. His only regret; not getting to watch Sam live out the rest of his life. Not being the best man at his wedding. Not being able to corrupt his nieces and nephews. Not being able to see him…happy. Man I have been reduced to tears, and I gotta say thank you. In a story full of beautiful lines these two probably are what truly started the waterworks.

No, no, no! This was not the last chapter, I refuse to accept that and will sit here forever thus neglecting my job and family until I end up alone and homeless...you don't want that on your conscience, do you? First let me say that this story has been the best tag to AHBL. There truly is nothing better out there.
Your characters were spot on, the dialog flowed well and you balanced the perfect amount of angst and humor. I also need to mention how much I love snuggled up Winchesters and so that adorable scene in the Impala with the boys asleep together, well that earned you extra cookies. And now I shall enjoy the warm fuzzies that I'm basking in after picturing Sammy pulling Dean against his chest , listening to the beat of his brothers heart. Aww! Maybe you could fill in for the writers during the strike, just a thought.

All I can say is "WOW"!!!!!!!!! Every time I watch AHBL 1&2-the tears just flow - Now you write this- the tears are running amock.. OUTSTANDING JOB........ This was just incredible- Sam and Dean 's POV- Bobby's pain at seeing his "boys" in such pain-Ellen and her calming effect -all in one neat package. AWESOME piece of writing!!!!!!! Throughout the piece one thing is clear- the deep unending love between the brothers and how far it has taken them. OUTSTANDING!!!! I love the one liners that are so Sam and Dean-perfect icing on the cake.!!! You are a great storyteller- BRAVO!!!!!!!!

*wipes away tears* Reliving that scene always makes me cry...truth be told I cry when Dean cries...You amazing depth to an already heavy scene. I think my favorite part was when 4yr old Sam was in awe of their hearts "saying" the same thing. Very poignant seriously made me cry this morning. *sniff* Great work! Whoa, just when I thought I could finally handle that eppy, that scene, when I thought I could watch it, think about it without getting that knot in my stomach, along comes this incredible fic. I relived it all again. "Only one thing could make Dean cry out like that. Only one." Holy freakin' moly, Bobby's thoughts here nailed it exactly, very insightful writing. That cry echoed in our ears for days... Loved this line, this whole image - "He realised right then and there that John Winchester wasn't kidding. Don't try and get between the boys" Damn straight, great wee!chester flashback, a point well made, fantastic, succinct description. Your whole heartbeat focus was spectacular. I just loved it: Sammy in awe, Dean's wondrous reaction, their hearts beating in tandem - no wonder the silence left when one heart stopped was deafening. Sooo sad, but so beautiful. Awesome writing.
