So you meant to say that anyone who has DID will see themselves in the mirror? That's interesting...i always thought that you can see the other person in the mirror then you can know that you are nuts...LOL

Author's Response: Well, is it really DID... Actually, I'm not sure who the person with DID would see in the mirror, but for the purpose of my exercise, I took poetic licence and made the boys see themselves. The reason will be revealed in the epilogue - stick with me....Jules

When you say "Things take a bad turn from here on in..." I'm assuming you mean the next chapter and then we will start to see Dean getting better? or real Sammy to the rescue???? Wow - just wow. This is just a tour de force! I love this story - your characterizations are awesome - you still have me doubting that it is really Dean... Loved that they each saw themselves in the mirror. Trust John to be a stubborn ass to the end, though. I am definitely thinking it is Dean though - due to all your clues - Kayla does believe it is Dean because he was the first to manifest and of course Dean would withdraw and become non-reponsive as a first response to trauma as he did when Mary died.... Are you off for the holidays? Maybe a chapter before next Friday??? Puppy eyes..... ;)

The perspective that Sam taking his coffee with cream and sugar made him a rebel was too cool! You would think that a black coffee drinker would be a rebel--but not in the Winchester family. Sam really is the blonde chick from the Adams Family:) 

I know you said you aren't a medical expert but just as an FYI.... DID is NOT the same thing as schizophrenia.

Author's Response: Thanks for that - and I think that line about schizophrenia didn't come across as clearly as it should have. I know there is a vast difference from the research I did, but I also discovered that what most people label schizophrenia, is actually DID. Schizophrenia is something entirely different to what we think it is. Sorry the line in chapter 4 was a bit vague on that point. And yes, Sam really is like the blonde girl from the Addams Family - lol.....Jules

absolutely awesome! And Sammy joined the party... Great character this Kayla doc, fascinating the psychological aspect. And amazed by the power of the puppy dog eyes. So now Sam has joined the party - I am going to hold my hands up and admit I have absolutely no idea what on earth is going on here, but boy do you have me hooked! You are really teasing us with the little bits of info that are coming out and it is so well written, but then that is par for the course with your stories :) I love how John is winning friends as usual but my heart is breaking for Dean/Sam - I cannot wait to find out what the hell has happened to our boys?? Just on a side note it is great to see things with their 'proper' names and spellings! At least as far as us Brits & Aussies are concerned, right? *g*

Bless you woman! This was just an awesome Christmassy surprise! I think that I love everything about this story!!! Kayla is a fabulous character - got some lovin goin for Jim and Mara too... This is just a wonderful piece of writing - great the way you have John through Dean - I did figure the third personality had to be Sam. This is the perfect way, after all, for Dean to once and for all keep his family together and "safe".... at his own expense - as always! So - you did promise that this wasn't a death fic, right? So at some point, Sammy is coming to the rescue???? Have an absolutely fabulous Christmas!!! Hope the pond is looking good - maybe Santa can take his flip flops off long enough to cool off a bit after he stuffs oodles of presents under your tree!!!
