What a stunning, powerful piece of writing! I caught my breath at the depth and intensity of each card, each described with flair and originality. *bravo*

Your perception of Death with Mary melted my heart, green eyes the last and first thing he saw, so personal, so comforting - to keep one but lose the other...*sad sigh*

The World was just the best - the best ending to the deal, the best imagery. "...illuminated the world laid out in front of you" is a stunning analogy. *applause*

You captured each of the boys love, bravery and essence, through their actions, reflections or perceptions by others. I loved how each card represented one character's pov, one history, or one interpretation from you...so clever, the whole thing just blew me away. I read it three times...

And I've just realised...sisters! talent obviously runs in the family!!

Kinda relieved you liked "Death", was afraid it might be a bit too.. mushy. But sometimes Sam just needs a kick in the ass before he realises certain things - especially about his brother. Who better to give him one than Mom?

As for "The World" *bows gracefully* - must admit I'm rather proud of that one. Somehow I can't believe I wrote it.

This was original - and I liked the way you had to work for some of it - kind of like interpreting the cards I guess. Some strong images and clever illustrations. I have never read the author you reference, so I may be missing something - but it still worked for me!  Enigmatic and enjoyable.

He's the literary equivalent of Supernatural. Dark and twisty and funny and moving and... well, I'll stop there because really, the list could go on for quite some time.

As a big Neil Gaiman fan, I was keen to read on when I read your summary, and very glad I did.

This is great - and very original...I like it a lot!! Must go dig out my copy of NG's omnibus...hehe

Author's Response: Isn't Neil fantastic? When I reread "Fifteen Painted Cards" the other day I knew it was the perfect idea for a fanfic. Nice to know another fan of his liked my little twist on it!
