Okay great job with this, I'm going to have to take a break for now, but no worries I'll be back.   - Kel

He controlled his urge to throw holy water and scream Cristo.   - How I would have loved to have seen that even if it wouldn't have been the smart thing...lol.  Great chapter, glad to see Ben where he belongs - K

Author's Response:

I thought it would have been hilarious but no real productive....at least Dean has some control.

Thanks again!

Wow, just wow! Before my weekend trip I managed to get to chapter 4, now I sat down and read the whole story. I just couldn't stop. It took quite a different turn then I imagined it would but I liked it very much. At times the thoughts of the pedophiles almost made me gag. You did an incredible job describing this delicate topic in a very sensitive way. Dean's fight for his son was heartwrenching and spot on. I also loved the way you made Hendrickson finally realize that there is "something" else than the usual suspects out there. I just sighed when reading the last line "I want to be a Winchester". Perfect.

You made us believe Dean truly and deeply loves Ben and will take care of him. I would like to see a sequel to this one. Thanks for sharing this great story with us. I look forward to reading more from you :)

Author's Response:

Thank you so much.  I am glad that you enjoyed it.  I know it took a strange turn but once something gets in my head there is just no getting it out.  It really developed more from the idea of how did John keep Dean and Sam safe from the darker side of humanity when he so obviously left them alone so much?

I love Hendrickson as a character and can't wait to see what the show does with him.

I'm not sure about a sequel but I am thinking about it.

Thanks again for reading and reviewing!

Exquisite story!!!  I love it!!!  Sequel please.

Author's Response: Thank you so much.  I am really happy that you enjoyed my story.  I don't know about a sequel but I will continue to think on it.  I really appreciate the time and effort you put into may story - made this a great day for me!

They are such a cool family!  I'm going to be sad when your story is over.  Maybe a sequel...?

Author's Response:

I'm glad you think they are a cool family.  I think Dean and Sam would make great guardians for any child.

Thanks!

I'm so glad Ben is safe with his father again.  what a rollercoaster ride this story is---so emotional and powerful!

Author's Response: I'm glad you have enjopyed the ride.  I enjoyed writing it.  Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Incredible!  I think you dealt well with such a horrible and sensitive topic.  Human trafficking is the most abhorrent disgrace to humanity.  Your information was not only shocking, but educational.  Good job!

Author's Response:

As I've watched this show I have really wondered how John kept the boys free from the darker side of humanity.....maybe he didn't.  It is a disgusting practice that was horrible as I did the research on it.  I can't believe what people will do to each other.

Thanks!

My breathing is quickening as I read this.  All the different hand-offs and the time lsot in travelling, the worry for Ben...it's driving me crazy!

Author's Response:

Mission accomplished.  I worked very hard on the timing of that chapter.  Glad to know it worked.

And again, thank you.

Those damn hunters again!  It's funny to hear Sam's thoughts and opinions about Dean's parenting skills and the reflection of his relationship with his father.  Dean is a cool dad!

Lucky Ben, snuggling with dean every night.

Author's Response:

Wouldn't we all love to snuggle with Dean every night?  I think Dean would be a cool dad but I bet he'd be pretty scary at times too.

Thanks again.

Ooohh!  Spooky!  LLOOOOOOVE IIIITTT!

Author's Response:

Glad you find it spooky.....Hope you continue to enjoy.

Thanks again.

Damn those stupid hunters!  Leave the kid alone!  And now Dean and Ben have been taken to hell?  Holy Moly!

Author's Response:

Glad you're still enjoying.  Thanks for the reviews.

It's great the way you're slowly introducing Ben to the Winchester way of life.  The three of them are such a cute family.

Author's Response: Be prepared it's starting to get darker.....Thanks for reading! and for the continual reviews!

Another excellent chapter!  Ben is adapting pretty well.  The explanation of the before and after parts of his life are very good!  I enjoy his perspective.  I also like the way he and Dean interact.

Author's Response:

Thanks again.

"He fell asleep with the warm tickle of his son's breath on his neck."  Perfect way to end this chapter!

I'm so glad that Bobby's in the picture now.  He can give John's perspective on the situation and is always a good balance for the Winchesters.

Author's Response: I didn't pull Bobby into this as much as I should have but I kind of like his removal also.  I always kind of pictured him as more of an observer.

Wow!  So much happened in this chapter.  Poor Ben!  What a horrible way to see your mother die!  this is a fabulous story!  I'm so glad it was featured because I missed the posting!

Author's Response: I'm glad you're enjoying it.  I hope it doesn't disappoint later.

I love this chapter!  It shows what a caring family unit Dean, Ben and Sam are.  I love how integral Sam is in Dean and Ben's relationship and the degree of support and commitment he shows to his brother and their new family.

Author's Response: I can't imagine Dean ever raising a kid without Sam being a integral part of it (even if he were married).  Thanks so much for the kind reviews.

A wonderful chapter, very skillfully written and descriptive.  I found myself feeling everything the characters felt as if I were them.  Excellent!

Author's Response: Thank you so much!  I'm so glad that the feelings are coming across.

YAY!  I hoped it would come to Ben being Dean's son.  So many emotions to deal with.  I love where you're story is going (at least where I think it's going) and all the surprises I'm sure you have in store for me.

Author's Response: I hope you continue to like it!  Thanks for the kind reviews!

Reviewer: Shannondoah (Signed) · Date: 16/12/07 09:02 PM · On: Chapter 1

Wow!  Lisa Braeden is dead!  What a shocker---I wasn't expecting that.  Can't wait for more surprises.

Author's Response:

I didn't think Dean would ever take Ben from her and I wanted Ben in Dean's custody so it was the only way to make it happen.

Thaks for reading and reviewing!

Wow, I just read this straight through, and I loved it. It was awesome. I can't even find words to describe how much I loved this piece. The struggle between the three Winchesters, the plot, everything. Great job.

Author's Response: That's one heck of a read straight through but I'mgladyou did it.  Thanks so much for the wonderful review and for reading my story!

Yes, Walmart could be mistaken for a damn davil's gate. And have you seen the demons pouring out this time of year?! *shivers *

No, its not located on Central Ave, but the shopping center is named  "Central Park"....coincidence? I think not.

Anyway, great job bringing Henrickson into the fold. Cooke was a good addition as well.

Ready for the sequel....maybe the teen years?! But keep Sam and Dean young and still hunting. Stories loose their excitment when the hot guys grow up and settle down. (kinda like real life:)

Author's Response:

Okay, I'm frightened!  That's too scary.  Stay away from panel vans and Impala's in that parking lot.

I don't know about a squel but I might start thinking about it. I agree about hot guys never growing old and settling down....but what can we do?  I would never make the guys less than what they are!

Thanks for all the wonderful reviews.  I really appreciate the time and effort!

I will never look at the Walmart in Fredricksburg the same again.

Author's Response:

Oh please tell me I at least didn't get a street name right because I was totally making it up - usually I would find an actual store but I thought that would be wrong.

Thanks for the laugh - I think Walmarts are the gates to hell anyway!

How do you do that? swing from high octane action, to sadness and then to fulfilment...beautifully done and a great read. Thank you!

It seems you've got two stories working for you here, the sad and tender relationship developing between Dean and his new son and the angsty action of the kidnapping and exorcism, both work well in their own way.

Will look out fo your next story...hope it's soon!

Author's Response:

Thank you!  Great compliments all around.  Action and angst must always go together.  And I hope there is always fulfilment at the end, otherwise what's the point.

I am so glad that you read my sotry and enjoyed it.  I have to decide now whether to keep bagging my head against the wall that is the story I'm working on now or to pull another from my archives......hmm, have to make a decision and I hate doing that.

Again, thanks for reading and reviewing.
