Great writing!  Chapter kept my interest.

Author's Response:

Hi,

Thank you for the review, especially since this is an older story, so you had to backtrack to find it! This has been rendered an AU by the third season finale, but I'm glad it hooked you in anyway.   Sue

Well worth the wait Sue, a great second chapter and a very interesting take on how to get Dean free of the deal...would love to see Sam do this on the program...lol

Author's Response:

Thanks, bb, glad you liked it.

Hmm, Supernatural meets Perry Mason, with Sam defending Dean's sould against whoever the Crossroads demon is this time and whoever holds Dean's marker as judge and a bunch of black-eyed demons as jurors? Stacked deck, much? Somehow, I don't think Kripke's gonna take the legal route out of Dean's deal...

I really loved your little story. Dean's apparent calmness was in stark contrast to Sam's busy mind in these last days. Dean watching and reacting to Sam's every nuance tugged at my heart. I loved your words "Get some sleep, Tiger' and then Sam rolling over onto his stomach, a scene familiar from any night in their lives. Except only six more left...

You have given them a fantastic year and each memory made me smile. You captured their brother bond beautifully, well done.

Dean's happy-ever-after-wish-list was so sad because it was his lifelong dream of his family togther. I get his need to feel a lifetime of heaven in his last days, but I was so relieved that you lead him to re-consider for Sam's sake. Your words 'He'd have everything, but Sam would have nothing..." were striking, the truth in a nutshell, and they really got to me. Of course protective!dean wouldn't put Sammy at risk.

This ch was outstanding and  I would love to read Sam's side.

Author's Response:

Cookie, Thanks for the detailed review! I read in your blurb that you've left 297(!) comments, I think that qualifies you for more written words than half the writers here!

Have to admit that I lifted the Sam rolling over to sleep on his stomach bit from "Playthings", it just felt right.

Still plotting Sam's side, so check back this weekend.

Let's hope he doesn't have to follow in his father's footsteps. I would love to hear Sam's side. Did I mention that I really liked it? ;)

Author's Response:

Glad you liked it. Stay tuned for Sam's side.

yep,Sue, bring it on....love to see what quiet suffering Sam thinks of all this.......

Poor Dean.....not much left to look forward to, is there ??

Author's Response:

Hey Jude,

I like that turn of phrase, quiet suffering Sam. Poor Dean, indeed, but he's not regretting his decision, because Dean can and will do anything for Sam.

Sam's side...no.

Not just Sam's side, but how about his side and then a face off against the Xroad demon showdown style followed by the Djinn hunt. That would be good and I think you're a good enough author to do it justice!

Really enjoyed this - thanks for the read!

Author's Response:

Wow, that's a tall order, the big face off with the Xroad Demon and the djinn hunt. Truth is, I have no idea how they're going to resolve Dean's deal. Tell you what, if I figure out a solution for the deal, I'll post it as a sequel to this. Djinn hunt, hmmm.
