Author's Response:

I really couldn't think of any other way to end it, sadly...

this is really good. I loved the bit at the start when dean was teasing sam.

Author's Response: Thank you!  That was one of my favorite parts of the story. ;)

This is one great story thanks.

Author's Response: Thank you so much! ;)

I confess, I was confused by the "Boy type"  comment.  If Dean had flat out asked, "Ranma?" when he saw the fingernail polish.  And can I just say how much of a freaking spaz I was for Ranma 1/2 back in the day?  Everything about Ryouga made me laugh like a loon.

This was really bittersweet.  That blow-up fight between Dean and Sally when she made that comment about John -- ouch that was painful, but completely understandable, on both sides.  And then poor Sammy having to say goodbye...

You really do know how to tug at the heartstrings!

Author's Response:

*I confess, I was confused by the "Boy type"  comment.*

Heh.  I was referring specifically to some t-shirts that were produced some time ago - either "Boy Type" or "Girl Type" with a picture of the associated Ranma. ;)

That's my esoteric reference for the story.

*This was really bittersweet.*

The conclusion was inevitable when I started writing it, but I had to write it anyway once the idea crept into my head.  I did want to explore the concept of "normal" - both from Sam's yearnings and from how an outsider would see their lives.  Given Sally's own father and Sam's bitterness, it wasn't a stretch for her to go the "deadbeat dad" route.

Few scenes have been as difficult for me to write as the final scene in this one.

*You really do know how to tug at the heartstrings!*

One does one's best - though I would also posit that the Winchesters themselves lend themselves to angst mixed up with everything else...

I don't know how it is that I missed this one -- stupid, stupid me.

First chapter's positively adorable.  And Dean ordering the skank out of his car is exactly how I expected him to react.  People think he's callous, but Sam's his achilles heel.  That ho might as well have said all those things to Sam.

I'm grinning like such a dork right now.

And props to you for adding 'yo' after saying Jack Black rocks.  Can't say I agree with you (he rubs me the wrong way), but the 'yo' thing is a particular favourite of mine, especially coming from white-as-white-gets girls like us.  lol.

Author's Response:

Not stupid.  I was, in my enthusiastic glee, posting my backlog of stories much more frequently than I probably should have.  Wouldn't doubt if I scared some folks off, between the number of stories and the length of my chapters.

Oh, and the het. ;)

All that aside, I have been amazed at the reaction this story has received.  I wrote it over a year ago and I still have folks telling me that it makes them grin like dorks.  So, mission accomplished.  I worked hard to make the boys our boys, so...

*And props to you for adding 'yo' after saying Jack Black rocks.*

Well, he can be hit or miss for me.  I loved him in "School of Rock" because of his chemistry with the kids.

Well to both stories I favor them very much and think they are very nutty.

Author's Response: Thank you so much!  I really am rather fond of my Sam and Sally stories.

Very Very Good...  Are you going to do anymore with this series?

Author's Response:

Again, thank you so much!

I do have two stories bouncing around in my brain that continue to explore the Sam/Sally relationship but I'm working on other projects right now.  ;-P

Awesome!!! I'm liking this little series!

Author's Response: Thank you so much!  This was a story that I didn't really intend to write but, based on the prompts I was given, it really begged to be another Sam/Sally story.

I loved this story!! Very well done.

Author's Response: Thank you so much!

This is one of the greatest love stories in Sams world of truth. I am glad that its not quit as quivering as Romeo and Juliet.

Author's Response:

Thank you!  I was, as mentioned earlier, rather pleased about this story once I finished it.  I thought the OFC was strong enough to hold her own with the boys and I worked hard to extrapolate what they would be like in high school based on their S1 personalities.

Your comments are entirely too kind. ;)

A Very Cool and Outstanding Metaphor. The story was an acheviment.

Besides, I am more of a fan to Sam then Dean. I do like his character, but I have more connection for Sam (he's cute and tall . . . buff) now, when it comes to Dean (he's cute and mid short . . . is an eating machine.)

I love both, but I'm in love with Sammy . . . so, I don't think I should pat you on the back for the conquestidaro of Sam, but this story really rocked.

Author's Response: Thank you so much!  I was really pleased with how this one came out, even if the narrative POV and the language drove me crazy.  ;-P

Very lovely, amusing story -- so nice to see Math Girl again!

Author's Response:

Thank you!  It was originally supposed to be Jess that Sam had the "opening up" conversation with - I hadn't even planned on Sally showing up.  So that was a fortunate accident because I think she worked better in the story for the role that she needed to play.

Which is probably more than you wanted to hear in response to your lovely feedback. ;-P

ouch i gotta say that last bit was hard to read. i know breaking up with the first is hard - especially near a special or important time in someones life. (mine happened the day after i started uni EVER) and reading this brought back memories. it was good i enjoyed it.

Author's Response:

That last bit was hard as heck to write, and there were a couple of days where I didn't think I was going to manage it.  I'm sorry if it brought up bad memories, though.

Thank you so much for your kinds words.  I must sincerely apologize, however, for not responding sooner.

Wow!  What a great story!  Heartbreaking romance -- Well done!

Author's Response:

Thank you!  I knew the ending was inevitable when I started writing it but it was definitely something that wanted to be told. ;)

And my apologies for not responding sooner.  I'm usually more diligent than this...

Very good! Poor Sammy. I liked Math Girl.

Author's Response:

Thank you!  I'm more than a little fond of Math Girl myself - she shows up in a couple of pre-series stories that I've written.

And my apologies for not responding sooner.  Life gets crazy when you get sick. ;)

Awww!  That was sweet!  And sad!  And I liked it very much!
